Probably 14/15th looks good! Though I would love to go to them all, and I'm spending a fortune on courses lately so would have to see if I can afford it :/

Re: Vent!

I've had to watch my friend go from bad dog trainer to bad dog trainer in an effort to teach her 10 month pup to recall from other dogs. She then rings me up to complain about the bad dog trainers who haven't helped (and probably made her dog worse) and who I warned her against in the first place. :...

Re: Trixie Dog Activity game

How sturdy is the dispenser?
I predict that mine would bypass the button part and just trash the dispenser to get to the treats.

Re: Scruffy vs Smart

You'd love him WufWuf (you aren't having him though  ) He loves everyone he meets, loves to being fussed and cuddled, but will also go and curl up on his own in his bed after a while, and settles quietly when left alone, or left in another room, loves to play - tug or ball - with you or on his ...

Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2

Living with a dog who was as shut down as Honey means that she's constantly changing now that she's well on the road to recovery. She's hilarious and so sweet she'd melt your teeth but she's got the ability to be a total pain in the butt too  I think I've finally gotten her to knock it off...

Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2

Hate dog perfume. Mine would be straight out to find some horse poo to roll in anyway  . Can you imagine the response you'd get if your dog ran off and came back with one of the few red squirrels left in the UK in his jaws?   Yet they allow dogs in Formby woods - supposed to be...

Re: Scruffy vs Smart

Yes, the top layer is just dead hair so makes them less waterproof, but they will look like little woolly mammoths and start leaving hairs everywhere round the house. Couldn't even feel Charlies ribs through the hair, but now he's stripped down he looks OK weight, it was just so much hair making him...

Scruffy vs Smart

Which is better? Couple of piccies of Charlieboy before and after his strip (or almost after - he still has hairy yeti feet and a bushy tail and a few other bits of tidying up to do - I'm not a groomer by any stretch and I get really bored of doing it, so please don't be too critical!) By show...

Re: Fresh meat

Honestly - it is much easier than you think. My dogs have steel digestion so I just get whatever is easiest to reach out of the freezer and throw them that. I used to weigh and bag stuff but now I guesstimate so they can get anywhere between 100g-400g a day, this is mostly because I am too lazy to c...

Re: Vent!

Not much sadder than a totally broken working bred border collie...... Oh wait - there is - there could be a family with 3 of them. All girls. Close in age (2 litter sisters) Scrap regularly. All in choke chains, and electric bark collars. Stressed beyond belief and walked 20 mins a day, if that. :e...

Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2

OH has done it again    I came back from walking the big girls to find that he had left dog food defrosting in a bin on top of one of the chest freezers. The terrier (small terrier) had located and raided, and has eaten two and a half breasts of lamb  She is trying to sleep i...

Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2

On the b*tch in season topic - Took my lot to the woods this evening. Not often these days I get out on my own with all four together, more often they get thrown into separate group walks (where on the whole they are little superstars) or I take Ben, Charlie and Pop with a tag a long or two and my O...

Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2

I've been diligently updating the Lady Dog and Being on Heat thread ( https://positively.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 3&start=90 ), mostly so I have a "diary" to look back at, but also incase it helps someone else. It's been really interesting to follow how its been going...particularly a...

Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2

Yup. Or, as with my OH just not thinking period. I've largely given up, his intentions are good and by now he bloody well knows what he's supposed to do/ not do, I think he just forgets. Every time. Or he just disregards me cos I'm a 'know-it-all', then when it goes wrong admits that mayb...

Re: Puppy for a lodger...

I was just about to pop in and suggest an older rescue too. There are some very mellow dogs out there from around 5 years old who would be perfect I bet. I'm not fond of staffys. But only because the 4 I have direct experience with have been at worst aggressive and at best "unpredictable" ...
