Re: Double Trouble - Two puppies at once?..
I realise this is old but I totally agree. My cousin got two pups from a rescue. Both male thankfully, but littermates and they are lovely dogs but totally mental. I've done some work with them each seperately and they are easy to train (border collie crosses - with some german shepherd so very smar...

Re: Crying with bully stick?
Just bought these for our dogs, 55p each from the local pet store. They were rather euphemistically labelled bull "tails" (with the inverted commas!) in one shop, and then simply "bulls bits" next door lol. Also saw dried lung for sale, would this be safe for my dogs or not? Does...

Re: Ben and Poppy
Flyby...he's 21lbs and the breed standard is 13-15lbs so he's quite a bit overweight. Especially as he's not particularly tall. However, he's nearly 9 years old so it's probably only natural for him to put on a little weight, and he can still run and walk for miles so its not too much of a problem y...

Re: Small Space Solutions: Toy/Puzzle Storage
I'm finding I have to be more sneaky about where I put cardboard boxes and things as no-one else in our house understands the concept that these can be great toys and instead see it as "junk" so it gets thrown out. Hence my wardrobe is becoming stuffed with boxes that I just can't bear to ...

Re: Small Space Solutions: Toy/Puzzle Storage
If you really wanted you could get a basket to keep dog toys in and then teach them a "tidy up" command to get them to put the toys away themselves. We pile the toys in a corner usually and the dogs just go and get one when they want to. And then leave them lying around. Mines a nightmare ...

Re: Nylabones
My dogs like frozen carrots and raw broccoli stalks to chew on too. I used to feed raw hide but my dog devours them in half a day and they quite often made him sick after or went all slimy and yuck so I stopped but never really found much of an alternative except for frozen carrots. Bully sticks sou...

Re: Toys & Exercise 4 destructive/reactive dog
Oh bless him, he loves it. And he's a beauty too.
I sometimes think dogs are like toddlers. You can spend a fortune on expensive toys for them and they'll still rather play with the box/wrapping paper!

Ben and Poppy
Just a couple of videos of Ben and Poppy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vR0scz2FZtI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-13aLaQCIhE&feature=feedu Yes Ben is fat and gets mauled by the pup at the end (she was supposed to be busy with a Kong!) And yes I still have to use a food lure to get Pops to roll...

Re: I love it when my dog(s)...
I love it when I can tell my dog is happy I love how he looks so natural and "at home" when he is outside in the countryside, in a way that he never quite seems to be indoors or in a town (mostly because I feel the same!). http://i1094.photobucket.com/albums/i460/BendogSash/SAM_07412.jpg A...

Re: Let sleeping dog lie??? Or not?
We have one of each type of dog. The pup is set to wake us up at 7am without fail (thats when boyfriend gets up for work) My dog will sleep til noon if you let him, but mostly is happy to get up when I get up to go for his walk. Dog 3 will not budge, even if I wake her up and treat her and put the l...

Re: Toys & Exercise 4 destructive/reactive dog
Just to add I totally recommend cardboard boxes etc. If your dog likes chewing things up then its fine to let them. My dog destroys toys so apart from a few Kongs and such he mostly gets cardboard kitchen roll or toilet roll tubes stuffed with tissues for him to rip up and a few bits of kibble. They...

Re: Dogs "playing"
I thought he was getting better and less reactive. He was at the point where he can pass another dog on a lead without reacting. I take charge and continue walking saying "come on" to my dog letting them meet and sniff but not for long. Whilst boyfriend and his dog act as a distraction for...

Dogs "playing"
Our two adult terriers (one neutered male (castrated at 5 years old) and one entire b*tch) pretty much ignore each other. But the male is very playful and always wants to play with me but is also fearful in general of dogs, loud noises etc. Now we have a puppy in the mix and although on the one hand...

Re: The ladydog and being on heat
I've read that you think it best to wait until the b itch is at least 2 or 3 before getting her neutered, and waiting 3 months after a season. I've heard that you should always let a b itch have at least one litter of puppies, before you get her spayed...would you recommend this or is it a load of r...
