Excellent - one of the main things that you will need to do is socialise her and get her used to as many situations as possible,....very slowly so she feels confident and interested rather than overwhelmed. http://www.dogbehaviour.com/articles/dogs/puppysocialisation.htm That's one of many links tha...

Toilet training needs to be done in a very positive way. Take them outside every hour on the hour, after they have eaten, played an excited game, just woken up or when visitors have arrived. Wait with them and when they go to the toilet say the work you want to use as a command and praise them. If t...

Doesn't sound great really. One of the reasons for training your dog is to increase the bond between the two of you and having someone else doing that doesn't increase your bond or enable you to improve your training skills. It is your dog and you are the one who has to be able to get it to do what ...

Just an interesting point - nothing that can be undone now - but you said your socialised the dog well meeting one new person a day? For your future reference and other peoples, inbetween 8 and 16 weeks it is advised that puppies should be meeting at least 20 new people a day! It can seem daunting b...

Thank for the tip i think I'll give it a try. My main focus is to keep him busy and challenge him every day. Oh and he now knows how to lay on his side (only on one side though). lol He lays on his hip funky so it'll keep him from going the other way! We're going to work on roll over next... Oh yes...

Oh and he's starting to understand "ball" and "rope." i just did as you said and he's gotten it for the most part. He can't go find, but if it's in eye sight he does pretty well. Excellent - sounds like you have done really well in the time that you have had him. I have always h...

A normal healthy well rounded adult will tell a puppy off - it is completely normal and part of being a puppy is getting used to being told off by adult dogs. A well rounded dog should do just what your dog did, give a warning growl and a lip curl....which the pup should take notice of, and if they ...

catrinsparkles that is amazing!!! How did you associate words to toys/objects?? Thank you. Once she was regularly picking objects up i chose a name for the ones she particularly liked and said that name when ever she had that one in her mouth. I then worked up to having it on the floor somewhere, b...

i really like the i click - because it doesn't matter which way round you have it in your hand.

With the normal box shaped one i used to get really frustrated when i went to click and had my thumb in the wrong end of the box - doh!

You don't need to speak firmly or show your dog who is boss. She may well be reacting through fear and you doing this will add to her worries. There can be lots of reasons for aggression so without seeing the dog i think it would be wrong to give advice, apart from, don't shout at her or tell her of...
