Well, we want to adopt this dog from the animal shelter, and he's a stray. We were able to interact with him, and I checked his gums, fur, skin, paws, ears, etc., and he seemed fine. We payed the adoption fee yesterday, and we are due to pick him up on Tuesday at the hospital (neuter, shots, check-...

In terms of tie outs and tethers, it's not the length of the line that makes them cruel....rather the amount of time spent on the tether. If the dog does not have adequate access to water and food while on the line that is cruel. If the dog spends more than 3 hours per day tied out, that is cruel. ...

Yes. Animal control will come and talk to them and take care of things. Eventually you won't have to worry about walking with your daughter and dogs. And a cocker spaniel? Tied? 4 foot leash? That is just cruel! Do you see anything with the dog? Such as a water bowl that is actually FILLED with wat...

Did those dogs belong to anyone? If they didn't, you should contact animal control. If they do belong to someone, you should also contact animal control and they will talk to the owner about their dogs being off leash. It's a law. Yes, they belong to someone. Apparently what happened is they dug a ...

Scarey walk!!
My daughter and I took our dogs out for a walk Friday evening. While we were walking past this one house, their dog started barking which set off a couple other dogs down the street so we turned around to start home, I just had a bad feeling, and sure enough, two large pitt bulls came out from behin...

My two dogs pulled a lot when I first started walking them. Two things helped: The more I walked them, the less they pulled. It took a while, so be patient. I tried a number of different collars/harnesses. I had the best results with the Sense-ible harness. The leash clips to the front, and when th...

We purchased Victorias book 'How to have the perfect pet' and it is working very well. Just need for us to unlearn our bad habits of correcting unwanted behavior. We have been having issues with our min pin on pulling while on walks. We have an anti-pull harness, but doesn't work. Connor will hunch ...

I am having issues with my min pin on pulling on walks. I had bought the anti-pull harness at walmart for under $10 and it doesn't work on him, he will hunch his back and hop in his hind legs. I am reading Victoria's book 'How to have the perfect pet' trying to get answers on how to train him not to...

I agree with Nettle on the puppy pads, but out of our 6 dogs I do have an exception. She is potty trained, but hates the rain and snow and she will refuse to go outside, but for some reason no matter where we put down the pad, she will go on there, the rest for get it, I have to either force them o...
