Re: IAMS puppy food causing hyper dog?
I just want to add that James Wellbeloved isnt as good now as it once was, since being bought out by Mars a few years back I believe. Whereas they used to state there were no articifical additives or preservatives, the wording has been changed to "no ADDED artificial additives or preservatives&...

Re: Help with reactive dog?
Ah but you said something important...."once she got comfortable around your dogs shes better". Makes a big difference. And same as us humans dont liek every other persohn, not all dogs like each other. Plus if they are inside as op[posed to outsde, she wont be able to escape so may feel t...

Re: Help with reactive dog?
Well I dont reaslly know....Im no behaviourist! But the only thing I can go on is my dog and the work I have done with him with a veterinary behaviourist. We are currently working on his issues around other dogs....he can become fixated and if dogs run over to him on walks (esp if he is on lead) he ...

Re: Help with reactive dog?
I personally would refer them onto a behaviourist....a reputable one though. This really needs someone who can truly understand whats going on while seeing the behaviour....if somneone came to me in my classes with an issue like this, Id feel much happier directing them to either their vet, and then...

Re: Dog Training Logos
Ah fab guys! Havent seen these till just now, and those kind of outline/silhouettes are definitely what I had in mind in some way! Glad you agree! Had a meeting with graphic designer friend last night and her views are very much in line with this...we went through a few logos Id printed off the inte...

Re: Dog Training Logos
AH yes Erica have seen a few sikhouette type ones and I like them! I also like 'modern' type outlines of a dog - those kind of graphics. Haha aw Judy Dorset Dogs' logo is very cute...like it...but no prob not what I will go for! I think the 'fewer colours' theme is a good one...I want to be able to ...

Re: Dog Training Logos
Yep...name been decided...finally! I was thinking possibly along those kind of lines...I do want some kind of image/graphic but want it to be simple and not too 'cartoony' if that makes sense. Am thinking maybe outline rather than image or something...and want clean lines and not busy I think. Does ...

Dog Training Logos
If you guys were/are looking for dog training classes or one to one training sessions, what sort of logo would most appeal to you, as a dog owner? This is a very open ended question as dont have any specific points I am looking for, but am meeting with a graphic designer friend this evening to have ...

Re: GSD just bit another dog - and thought nothing of it.
My first thoughts is that it was definitely not her being dominant (try and get these ideas out of your head) and she reacted out of anxiety and fear. The greyhound was runnning, and greuhounds go fast. We know she already has issues around other dogs when she has toys or the like, which to me also ...

Re: non traditional stuff i'm glad i taught my dog.
Dylan knows loads of little commands that are reall;y helpful and cute.....but one I think is patrticularly cute is if hes lying on the bed with me, while I watch tv, he often tends to spread himself out....so when I come to turn the light out I find I have limited space! So hes now learnt the word ...

Re: Decorators
I would reckon that clicking and treating when a decorator appears would be good counter conditioning....even if he is growling etc it will hopefully serve to change his association. So after a while he will hopefully see a decorator in the house and think "ooh hang on, theres one of them there...

Re: Decorators
Oh yes sorry - I missed that fact that he redirects it to you. Thats one thing I dont have to worry about with Dylan so its easier I guess. ANd yes wow it is going to be a juggling act isnt it! I know Jasper wears a muzzle out doesnt he....so maybe its a case of him wearing that when you know he may...

Re: Decorators
Hmm this is something I have thought about in the past, as if I had the house decorated and had people in the house all day, no way could Dylan be there! Hed have to go elsewhere for the day.....have you got family or friends that he trusts where he could go during the day? Or where in the house are...
