So I've noticed that too! One dog will go for the throat, and when the prey is down, the dogs go for the stomach area. Another reason why I made my dogs get back from the deer they had just killed.

What is your best "ah that is cute" story?
WendyM: I forgot to mention that my dog, Della, I had some years ago, came from around your area! My uncle used to drive truck and he was in that area when he saw this man giving away puppies, so he took one to give to me as a belated birthday gift. From the time I got her, we had been inseperable (...

What is your best "ah that is cute" story?
No WendyM, I think your thinking of a skunk, which isn't fun getting the stink out of both you and the dog! Believe me, that isn't the Avon lady calling but a little stinker! Do you remember how one had to remove skunk spray before they came out with this stuff -I can't remember what they call it -t...

Hi Everyone! I'm wvvdiup1 - well, actually, it is Sandy! Actually, I joined a couple of months ago, but for some reason, I didn't see this forum! The wvvdiup1 is somewhat of a long story. I live in South Central Pennsylvania near a town called Bedford. I'm definately not married and the last time I ...

What is your best "ah that is cute" story?
WendyM, I don't live in New Zealand. I live in South Central Pennsylvania near the town of Bedford. The possums here can be very ferocious, however, they will growl first then take off. When they growl, you can see their big canine teeth! The closest I have ever been to a possum is when I was on my ...

Glad to hear you got your son back, especiallly in a national park! But, have you read the news lately? Women would rather have a dog (preferrably the four-legged ones)! This should send a strong message to all you guys out there!

When I train my dog(s) to swim, I hold onto their bodies until they get the hang of it. Nevertheless, I keep my eyes on them, especially in deep water! Swimming is a great cardivascular exercise for both human and dog!

I thought I was the only one who called a drive-up window, "the magic window!" But, I will credit emmabeth with this phrase because she is the first to publish it. So, I too, will steal that phrase!

What is your best "ah that is cute" story?
That is good story about your dog rescuing the oppossum (sorry about the spelling) family, but I have a good question: How did your dog manage to get that close to the opposums without being attacked?

Raw food is better
I agree with WendyM! Let me make this very simple! For both humans and dogs, eat right and exercise and the both of you should be fit and healthy! If you and/or your dog aren't either one, get off your butt and walk your dog! You and your dog are the best of all the other support systems out there! ...

What is your best "ah that is cute" story?
I have another cute story about Della. Every Christmas morning, she and another dog we had we named Hobo, who was a Basset Griffon Verdeen, had the habit of raiding through the Christmas gifts under the tree. Surprisingly, they didn't damage any of our gifts, however, they would drag out their gifts...

Fundog, you had to ask, didn't you! I think WendyM said a lot in those few words! Way to go, WendyM! I can't explain it, but I'm still "tongue and cheek" and yet I'm chuckling on that one!

Update on my dog
Thanks Nettle! It is true that animals will do that, but what I'm talking about is human intervention in ending the suffering of an animal. I don't think that animals place an emotional value on suffering as humans do. As I've stated earlier, an animal will do anything to survive-that is, to live-ev...

Thank you, WendyM, for your sentiments. The thing is how I see it is that Chrissy was 15 years old and I knew Chrissy for 13 of the 15 years she was on this earth. Chrissy didn't have that much time to live-about 3 to 7 days according to the vet. The words, "Humane or Humanely as possible"...
