Yes, The reason was the dog was very reactive and Vicoria said there was something in the rice and carrots that would help with this. It was a good episode, but this dog had bitten, I think, three children and some adults. I can't immagine it would work. I am going through the same thing with my dog...

Muzzle
That's funny. Koa will stick his whole head in for the treat. Now I just need to get him used to it being fastened. I leave it by his bucket of toys, so he will take no notice of it. I don't think he will like it too much when it is on for any amount of time, but I will keep my fingers crossed. Liz

Koa update
Thank you Emmabeth, I am also currently working on getting him used to the muzzle. Very slow process. It's to the point where when I show him the muzzle, Koa comes to me for a cookie. I think I will feel better having the muzzle on him when guest are over, at least at first. I will keep you posted. ...

Update and question for ckranz & Mattie
Hi, this weekend I had (3) guests stop by, so I took the time to do some training with Koa. I had him in the living room with a baby gate up, so he could see and hear us but not get to us. When he saw the people come in he barked and jumped at the gate. I told him to sit and gave him a Kong. He was ...

Sadness over your dog.
Hi, I know this might sound crazy, but is there a way your mom or dad could call the shelter to see if they still have records and at least tell you if the dog did get better and find a home or if he was very sick and needed to be pts? It's a long shot, but maybe knowing either way would help you mo...

P.S. to my last post.
Hi Paul, I just wanted to add that it sounds like the trainer in your class was willing to give up on Muttley too soon. I think when a dog has a fear aggression it is up to the owner to have lots of patience and realize that maybe the dog will never be able to hang out with visitors or greet strange...

Koa update
Hi Paul, I have to say I had another trainer come and she was great. But, really, to achieve the goal, we have to practice 8-10 times a day for 5-10 minutes. I have to say, that is not easy. I have given up for a little bit on company coming over. Koa and I have been working on heeling, hide and fin...

Tug N Hug harness
Has any one ever used a Tug N Hug harness?
I use the Gentle Walker when I am not using the Gentle Leader, but I find it a little uncomfortable with the clip in the front of Koa's chest. It's a annoying when I want to give him some freedom.
Thanks
Liz

Hi Mattie, I totally agree. I don't want to use the muzzle to get Koa to accept people, but when I think we are ready, I will put it on him for safety sake. I am so afraid he is going to lunge at someone, and he seems worse when he has a leash on or the Gentle Leader. I think me holding onto the lea...

Gentle Leader or Halti & muzzle question.
Hi all, When Victoria uses the Halti and it is attached to the collar as well, where is the leash attached? Also, does anyone have any input on a basket muzzle? I am in the process of desensitizing my dog with a fear aggression when people come to visit, but when he is ready to meet people, my train...
