Re: New puppy not being accepted at bed times

Yes , that's right. Put his bed in it , if it will fit in , or something like vet bed and you could put a soft toy in , one that he could snuggle up to.
it is natural for a pup who has just left his siblings to want to cuddle up to another dog but he will adjust in time.

Re: More Mods?

Emma , i know you get paid, but even so this site does get very busy at times and its lot for one person to do. you can't be expected to be here 24/7. Also, You should be able to concentrate on answering the questions without having to deal with spammers. Most forums have several mods who are mainly...

More Mods?

Hiya , I know I've bought this up before and it was decided not to have another Mod but should we rethink that? Its not fair to Emmabeth to have the burden of dealing with spammers as well as answering the posts especially as she is heartbroken and grieving for Rocky. We have long term regular membe...

Re: New puppy not being accepted at bed times

Congratulations on your new puppy. Have you thought of having a crate for the puppy and placing it next or near to your other dog.

Re: Sarah Whithead's courses - opinions ?

What courses are you doing. I did two Think Dog courses and watched her free seminar about dog body language.
She used to be part of COAPE.

Re: Cocker spaniel aggression

I'm sorry to hear this , it must be very upsetting for you all. You really need to see a behaviourist . Whereabouts roughly do you live? Has she had a season yet ? She could be coming into heat. Dogs often give off subtle signals when they have had enough petting which don't get picked by the childr...

Re: Puppy behaviour towards strangers

I would be pleased to have a puppy that is so friendly. :) The only thing you have to be careful about is her jumping up at people. It might be a problem when she is bigger.

Re: Puppy Help!

good luck ! Some breeds of dogs do play rough with each other , I have Jack Russels that look and sound like they are really fighting but they will break off and start sniffing around ( a calming signal ) when things get too rough . I have broken up play when one gets too rough , but if the one that...

Re: Puppy Help!

Well done for adopting a rescue puppy :) Reina sounds a well rounded puppy. She has given cues when she has had enough and they are ignored by the other pups so her resorting to "aggression" is normal behaviour. Step in before she gets tired and step in when she is being forced into being ...

I've never thought about tipping a dog groomer. I personally wouldn't tip but I'd probably give a gift sometimes.

Re: Dog soiling furniture

That must be very difficult for you . Bear in mind that dogs dont understand about furntiure and carpets and things and what they mean to us . Its just another surface to them . I agree with Nettle that this us partly a confidence thing. Dogs will often wee on beds and sofas when they have are stres...

Re: Potty accident!

 Was his poop normal? perhaps he had an upset tummy. My little chi x Libby hates the rain and I pop a coat on her and go out with her to make sure she goes. Most dogs have an accident at some time or another so try not to worry to much . Really agree about not saying any thing to a dog even if ...

Re: Barking dog

This isa common problem! I have reactive dogs and have made progress by moving way before they react if that possible. If I am in the street I will hide behind a car or go back the way I came. I also do the" watch me " to distract them and give them a treat when they they hold my gaze for ...
