Re: unable to house-train 5 year old rescue dog
Please do stay. My post wasn't intended to make you feel like you shouldn't be here - I was just honestly wondering if you think you have what is needed for this dog, mainly a lot of time. I'm sure that if you really want to work it out, there will be ways of doing it. I won't pretend to know how, b...

Re: Rehabbing an Ex-Fighting Pit Bull?
Just wondering... How is Chance doing now?
It's sounds like he's incredibly lucky to have you. I wish more people had the patience for their dogs that you seem to.

Re: unable to house-train 5 year old rescue dog
I think you really need to think about whether you have the resources for this dog or not. If you are angry or frustrated it will probably be rubbing off on her (unintentionally) which will not make house training any easier. The reason that I'm saying this is that if you do not have the time and (m...

Re: Impromptu Agility Course Ideas?
This thread has made me extremely excited. I think Pan might be getting a home-made agility course soon.

Re: Raw feeding and leftovers?
I was wondering about this. Pan is not on a raw food diet, but sometimes he does get given raw eggs and sometimes meat. I'm glad we can continue this by doing them separately. Watching him eat a raw egg is way too funny.

Re: What kind of mutt is he?
Aww. What a gorgeous dog. I would say that it looks like he has some collie in him. I've seen a couple of collie crosses who look very similar. Other than that, all I can tell is that he's gorgeous! A beautiful mix of mutts.

Bouncing border collie circling my wheelchair.
Aaaaarrrggghhh! Ahem. So, Sophie and I have had our 2 and 1/2 year old border collie, Pan, for nearly seven weeks now. I use an electric powerchair to go on walks with, and most of the time he's fine... Apart from when he gets too excited in the common when he's off the lead. He starts bounci...

Re: Introducing Pan! (and me and Nikki)
Hello. *waves* I'm Soapy's other half. Pan is gorgeous, although definitely not as laid back as a Cavalier. :P He tends to need a fair bit of mental stimulation during the day, which is what we expected from a border collie, but he is far more relaxed than we expected him to be. He's so lovely. I co...

Re: Introducing two dogs, one of which has very stressy owners.
Thank you for the replies. Especially for the advice re. snarling. I really wasn't sure about what to do. It doesn't help when both your parents are screaming and trying to yank the dogs apart even though they're not touching each other at all! So... I'll make sure Lucy backs off, or distract them w...

Introducing two dogs, one of which has very stressy owners.
Hi there, I'm having a few concerns. Basically I have just rescued a beautiful border collie boy. Over the past 6 weeks my partner and I have done a lot of training with him, and we've been getting him used to all sorts of new things. He now loves to play with dogs, toys and in water... All things h...

Hello :)
Hey everyone, I'm so pleased to have found this forum! I've been using Victoria's techniques for several years - since I first saw It's Me or the Dog. I've researched for most of this time and have been certain that this would be the right way to train my dog when the time is right. When I was livin...
