Re: Correcting?

Lots of lovely answers, thank you. I dont know where to start! I'll try describing better what exactly is going on. Why are you correcting your puppy? Midget, I, too, would like to know how I can help you (if you want/need it). What's going on? First off is what i am "correcting" the pup fo...

Correcting?

Im reading just aobut anything i can find about positive dog training. Im trying to follow the rules and tips and its not goind so bad. Every single video on youtube though is using an already trained dog. So the question that comes up is what exactly does correcting mean? Yelling?Just saying NO in ...

Re: Dog continues to urinate in the house

HI, well im no dog expert,so wait for some more advice but maybe start potty training her again just for the nights. If, as i understood, this goes on only at night. Is it too dark outside?Maybe leave a light on? Stay up wih her and follow her around and when she's ready go outside together? Have yo...

Re: Yet another post about housetraining (long post)

Eh, I'm still holding out. All I've been told so far is that I'm a horrible person for adopting a dog when I work full time (like about 85% of the U.S. adult population under 65) As Mattie also said, most of the people here didnt tell you this, it was just one maybe but it made you feel bad thats w...

Re: Yet another post about housetraining (long post)

Midget, can you make a section of your house puppy proof and leave her there, the bathroom is good for this, it is small enough but not to small. She will toilet in there instead of all over your house. 7 to 8 hours a day on her own is a very long time for a pup this young, she needs more interacti...

Re: Yet another post about housetraining (long post)

Midget, sorry to be blunt, but what I do find cruel is letting a dog sit in its own poo for hours. How can you live in a home that is continually peed and pooped in? Unsanitary! Sorry, but maybe you shouldn't have gotten a pet right now. No, see you've got it wrong, i did the tying thing once and o...

Re: Yet another post about housetraining (long post)

Honestly - you hire a dog walker, you take time off (even unpaid), you come home lunchtimes, you bribe a neighbour.... or you dont get a puppy when you work full time. It is a priviledge, for those lucky enough OR those who have made sacrifices (i have... i earn far less at home than i would going ...

Re: Yet another post about housetraining (long post)

My main question is: how do people who work full-time manage to potty train a dog? So many articles I've read say you need to keep the dog with you at all times, but for the vast majority of us, that's simply not possible. We do the best we can... our lives have pretty much revolved around her and ...

Thanks! very good ideas.

I think my apartment is the worst to get a dog,it only has windows.Im gonna try the fabric box thing cause till now i was trying to show her to hide her bone under a some pieces of fabric i have,so putting more fabric in a box will do it!
I'll keep an update :D

Digging issue

Its me again:D My Lovely puppy Ziggy wants to bury her bone. Watching her try to dig up the apartment specially tiles is cute, but i feel bad for her. I dont have a yard or anything(sometimes i thank god i dont) and i dont think the city would like for her to dig up the little grass they have in tow...

Re: What breed is she? 2,5months old.

i was thinking pitt/german shepherd or but I can see the GSD/husky (blue eye) Well dunno why you say pitt but it would be logical cause my city does have alot of pitts...I hate it cause they have them only for the "mean" look it gives them.Unfortunanlty where i live people are way behind ...

Re: Female Puppy vs 6 year old Male

Introduce them on neutral ground, ie NOT in the older dogs home or garden. Introduce them on leash (or at least have the adult dog on leash) so you can be safe and go ffor a little walk together (just up the street and back nothing too far!). Dont just leave them to it unsupervised though, a nasty ...
