couple of days in and it's getting better :) I have stepped in when Teagan has over-stepped the mark (too aggressive snaps, tail pulling etc) and both dogs are spending longer sleeping and also seem happy to wander round the house separately (the first day or two they literally would NOT leave each ...

was hoping someone knowledgeable would reply to this! Had hoped I could leave Teagan entire for a while and see how she develops/matures but with the new housing situation (see major setback thread - now living with an entire male lhasa apso, owner refuses to even consider getting him castrated) I d...

Bingles - had my first experience with a ***** in season last year, until then I had no idea they bled! She kept herself pretty clean for most of the time but if she'd been sat/laid in one position for a while, e.g. when asleep, I would notice little bits of blood on the floor/mat. Not particularly ...

argh what a nightmare! Been a couple of days now, Teagan has peed on 2 beds a sofa and the living room floor so far but it was the first day so am hoping that it was just making the place smell like her. She hasn't done it today. The Lhasa poos on the living room floor but I was up this morning and ...

Been another couple of meetings turning out much the same way as the first but the big challenge comes now, am moving in with Teagan tomorrow. Not sure whether to keep her crated in my room or let her have the living room and kitchen with the Lhasa

Just an update - Prince has slimmed from 48kg to 43kg so far, my parents are going to get him back to the hydro pool to swim. His back legs gave out on him a couple of times last week though :(

Went this morning, Teagan has never been so popular! She had a great time. One lady had 2 beagles in the advanced group, they are so quick! The club's dippy retriever decided not to bother doing the course though, he wanted to play with the collie in the next ring instead! And even though Teagan cou...

Neutering

I have a ***** so this is not for me... but on another forum people are talking about their dogs not lifting their legs to pee. A lot seem to have had their dogs neutered at 5 or 6 months of age, which seems very young to me. Do early-neutered males never learn to lift their legs? Does this have any...

heel walking and loose lead walking are different - you should be able to teach them not to pull but not be in a perfect heel position all the time. if you have a park or something you can let them have a bit of a run on a long line? I have a 30ft long line I use on the beach - she doesn't run off b...

ooh I have a beagle too! Have a read of the 'loose lead walking' thread that is stickied at the top of this forum. My girl is a stubborn little mule sometimes too but I've found that doing something she enjoys and really tires her out works well. She gets a short on-lead walk in the morning just to ...

Agility show on Sat 8th at the uk arena - Grantham. Anyone going? I will be there with the training class people, there are a couple in the group competing but am just taking Teagan for a day out and to see what goes on. Feel free to come and say hi to the little tan & white beagle if you are th...
