Re: Airplane travel - opinions?
You can take your mutts over to Ireland on the plane emmabeth. The dog comes down the bagge carousel in its crate which makes you wonder where its been lol We use the ferry now though as it is distressing for them

I thought the Welsh Assembly was going to do something about puppy farms. They decided it would be to much like hard work :| http://wales.gov.uk/about/cabinet/cabinetstatements/2011/110308con/;jsessionid=gVghN9vChDjnTv8MDm80n9l7JLQ66y3D4TqJJDmfgmZp4pK2dpK4!685038706?lang=en I hope that "retros...

Re: Martin's gone bonkers
I allow them to nap whenever they feel, would be nice to teach them how to calm on command, I definitely would love to learn that one. It takes a while but is easy to do. When your dog naturally settles down/curls up for a snooze say good dog "trigger word" (i use chill) and drop a treat ...

Re: Oh no. Just figured it out - Murphy is guarding me.
Congratulations on the new addition :) I'd give it a few weeks before making rash choices. It sounds like the house needs to settle down after the recent upheaval, if you keep yhings calm and friendly, plenty of games and treats and lots of chill time. Make sure when the babies close the dog is watc...

Green Tripe is the best source for dogs, its full of loverly bacteria that aids digestion. As for a dog eating out the cat's litter tray, keep it out of reach/empty it more often?

Re: Presa Canario Episode
So you area going to have to carry chicken around for the rest of your life in order for you dog to "behave?" That seems pretty impractical to me. Or better yet, when that dog would rather go catch and kill the cat that just walked in front of you instead of eating a piece of chicken you ...

Re: Presa Canario Episode
I think the reason its described as bullying/forcing the dog to do something is because its a negative consequence for an action. Dog on prong collar "If I pull forward it is uncomfortable/painfull so I will not pull" Dog chooses not to pull because its not nice to. Dog on the chicken tact...

Re: Loose Lead walking
I never found the stopping when a dog pulled to work, as soon as I started walking again the dog pulled. I gave up on that method when a 3 month old puppy got the better of me. She had worked out that if she pulled I stopped and had spotted a dog onlead coming up behind us. She started a frantic pu...

Re: vegetarian / vegan dog foods...
It is possible for a dog to survive on a veggie/vegan diet.

Comparative health compared to an identical dog with a better diet is poor however. Do you want your dog to survive or thrive?

My dogs understand their commands in english, japanese, french, hand signals and eye movements. IMO they will learn any cue you teach them as they are dogs so its all foreign to them

http://www.ruffwear.com/ supplies search and rescue dogs in the uk. They have a connected water bladder on each side of their pack that automatically balance the load when water is drawn from it. They are about the only packs i'd recommend.

Re: Aggressive lab?
Is she reactive towards other dogs with the dog walker? I recently walked past an old woman in the forest nearby who's springer would not let any other dog near her. She had an injured leg and was using a stick to walk. Her dog was protecting her by stopping other dogs getting to close. With the dis...
