Re: 4 Month Old Puppy Biting Out of Control
Hi SarahB, He is going through that phase unfortunately. When our pup was 4 months he was like a little shark...my arms looked like I'd had a fight with a thorn bush...and lost! @Man'sbestfriend gives some real good advice - the second puppy teeth touch human skin = end of all attention and playtime...

Re: Well trained Jack Russell now regressing
Hi Butsies, The first thing I would do is get him to the vet for a full medical workup. There maybe something wrong with him which would explain his sudden loss of potty training, and pain can present itself as aggression, which could explain the nipping. Once you are sure there is nothing wrong wit...

Re: Countersurfing - help!
Hi JudyN Thanks for the reply. We would usually redirect with an incompatible behaviour such as a sit, but the only way was to pull him off when he had his head in a quiche ;) We are going to make sure it is NEVER rewarding for him, so hopefully over time this behaviour should become extinguished, r...

Countersurfing - help!
Hi all, We have a large breed puppy that has just realised he is tall enough to reach the kitchen table/worktops when he stands on his hind legs! We really don't want this to become a bad habit, but of course when he does get up there it is very rewarding for him!!! If he jumps up we tell him in a f...

Re: Milo - Dislikes children, anti-social and aggression problem
Hi Milo518, I'm not sure if this is right (someone please tell me if not!!), but I always found it very helpful to meet the guests outside if the dog dislikes visitors. Again, the guests should completely ignore Milo, and you can feed lots of treats as they approach, but I always found that being ou...

Re: Help! My big dog barks at people.
Hi Emmabeth, Thanks so much for your reply. We knew that we shouldn't over exercise him as a puppy as he is a large breed, but we didn't realise that too much exercise could also create a canine athlete who becomes harder and harder to tire out...thank you for this. We are keeping him on the long li...

Help! My big dog barks at people.
Hi all, I'm hoping someone can give me some positive advice. I often look after a six month old male Beauceron/Alaskan Malamute, whilst his owner is abroad working. We are lucky enough to live in a quiet mountain location, and he's a really good pup in most respects, except he occasionally barks at ...
