Re: Introducing Peanut!!
Ohhh, wickedhippy I'm so sorry, and understand how worried you are. We lost a dog once, tried everything to find her - no joy. When we had given up hope completely (three months after she got out), we were driving home, and there she was walking down the road with a guy who had found her in the park...

Re: Gentle leader for a reactive dog
Just to add to what emmabeth as already said. We use a headcollar on our GSD, because when he really pulls we struggle holding him, and it stops him biting, as it shuts his mouth when he lunges. But it does not stop him lungeing. If you can keep Chance under control without one, it's better all roun...

You'll be in trouble now for making the 'guard' dog too friendly .

Re: Nearly a bad accident
Grief Nettle, how awful for both of you. Hope your dog is feeling better soon. It's risky checking them out when they're in pain, and thank goodness she managed to get home under her own steam. Got to admit this is a worry of mine. How would we cope and what would we do if one of the dogs they had a...

Re: Just want a grump with folk who will understand!
That must be REALLY frustrating emmabeth. Don't they realise how brilliant you are. Why doesn't your sister ask for your advice? My one sister's the same though, she thought it was very funny that her jack russel ran up to two rotties, and when the owner asked her to put her dog on a lead, she laugh...

Re: Indoor Peeing with outdoor access...sketchy past
I thought it may be something to do with spaying incontinence that I've seen you mention Nettle, as the problem only started up after she was spayed. Sorry if I got that wrong.

I'm just bumping this up for the attention of Nettle maybe. Don't know if the OP is still around though.

Re: Avoiding people with ball chuckers
I've got to confess to having a chucker. It's great because we can only let Jake off his lead for short periods when no-one's in sight, and it gives him the opportunity to have a really good full speed run, and saves us messing with slobbery balls.

Re: Stubborn walker
Hi Orion7747
Just a thought, but do you walk her on the sidewalk or on grass? It could be that the sidewalk is just too hot and her pads are hurting.
