Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2

Erica, sounds very exciting!! In your position I wouldn't be able to sleep either :) We've had a busy week with Quorra, last Wednesday, we took her to the vets for a vaccination and worming tablets. She was so super good in the waiting room and ignored a cat coming back from a spay surgery, and a sh...

Re: Vent!

We watched that as well Judy, I was surprised the amount of people who over-do the amount of kibble they feed their pups. I swear most of those portions were two or three times the size of Quorra's portion, and she's not a small dog. (Though I did weigh what I fed her this morning, and it was 180gra...

small Animal Behavior unit in high school biology classes is some operant vs. classical conditioning (which I already knew), taxis vs. kinesis (which I already knew), and a lab about preferred conditions with either pillbugs/rolly-pollies/woodlice or fruit flies We did the same thing in our A Level...

I'm always surprised by how long Jaspers legs are!
He looks lovely and really seems to be enjoying himself on the Heath :)

Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2

Your comment made me think Jacksdad, this September I'm going to start a Bsc in Ecology and Wildlife Conservation in Bournemouth university. I remember that their course content mentioned a lot of wildlife behaviour. I hope it contains that sort of stuff you're talking about!! analyze behavior, obse...

Re: Vent!

I'm glad you guys think the same as me Delladoooo and Judy! I've calmed down a lot from earlier, and I'm not quite so angry. But Quorra has been 'off' for the rest of the day, she's a sensative little thing and has been quite timid after the Caesar Millan treatment she received today. I feel so guil...

Re: Vent!

Delladoo, I understand your fustration, we've met a fair few people like that. Just got back from being out with my girlfriend and her mum. Her mum wanted us to come and meet her 'Reiki lady' who normally she has come and talk to her horse. We took Quorra along as well, as she wanted to let the Reik...

Re: Stuffed hoof, safety?

Thank you Nettle! I was hoping someone with knowledge would come along :) I was really worried about sharp pieces but I never thought about it getting stuck in her mouth , but I guess Quorra is a big girl, and it is totally possible for her to do that. I'll explain to OH's mum, and Quorra won't be g...

Stuffed hoof, safety?

The other day, OH's mum came home with a stuffed hoof for Quorra, it's currently sitting in the cupboard with her other chewable treats (antler etc) as they only come out when she's supervised. She hasn't been allowed access to the hoof yet, as I was worried about safety. Will chewing of a hoof lead...

Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2

Thanks for the advice MPbandmom :) We were going to get started in the autumn, at the moment it's quite hot, even inside, and she doesn't have much energy till later in the evenings. She normally walks at our sides, or slightly in front, but we do command her to walk in front of us for walking along...

Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2

Erica, I wouldn't feel too guilty. I've done a similar thing whilst playing minecr@ft as well hehe And thank you Swanny! We love her little mask, she always looks either confused, concerned or devious. It's the little white eyebrows. We've been thinking about trying out bikejoring with her once she'...

Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2

I second Judy, I can't wait to hear and see more about Chetan's pups :) I think it was my last post that broke the old "What are your dogs up to today?" post, so whoops. Quorra was thoroughly spoilt yesterday. On her first walk we took her into the pet shop, and bought her some antl...

Re: gnawing

I think soft toys might have a more pleasureable texture. Quorra will chew her soft toys (or any people's teddys she comes across) so we usually buy her toys with no stuffing, or we remove the stuffing, so she doesn't eat it. I think there is no harm in him doing it, just make sure he's supervised, ...

Re: Favorite dog related movie or TV show

The Plague Dogs was not a book my parents should have let me read as a child. It's still one of my favourites though.

Homeward bound is a classic!

Re: Vent!

Today I went out dog walking with my OH's mum. I walked Quorra and she took Bella, the clients golden retriever. When we met Bella, she jumped up on me, and the owner, very condescendingly said to me, "knee her in the chest and hit her in the nose with the palm of your hand", I shook my he...
