We made it past the local outdoor cat and dogs!
Sirius has been doing so much better on her walks. I am beginning to believe she has more of an issue with larger dogs rather than smaller dogs, but as we seem to meet more smaller dogs when out and about, that seems like a good place to start. There are 2 or 3 local outdoor cats that drive the dogs...

Way to go for bringing the dog around, and way to go for being open to learning new ways to train!

That sounds like you are making good progress! It doesn't all get fixed at one time, so remember to keep focus on the good things that are happening.

Re: 4 month puppy getting aggressive with visitors
There is a section on the stages of a dog's life. I'm sure someone will post the link for you. I believe it is under the articles section. 4 months is a fear stage. Dogs with fear issues generally seem to have more trouble with men. Often it is the voice being lower or it can be the generally larger...

Re: large rolling shades for a fence
emmabeth, that's an even better idea! On the more serious side though, it seems that prices and availiability have greatly improved on the reed fencing panel rolls since the last time I looked. So I have ordered some of that. It turns out to acutally be less expensive than the woven fence scre...

Re: large rolling shades for a fence
Actually, I love the woven rattan mat screens, and if I could indeed get everyone who has made a comment about my black plastic to donate one, I would definately go that route. I'll check into ripstop nylon prices. I hadn't even thought of that fabric. Maybe I should get neon orange. I love ne...

Congratulations!
Now you can walk to work to get more exercise than Mr. Fundog! Just don't sample too much of the product.

Re: I think I have a "Houdini!"
My son used to put the dogs out in his back yard in the morning, and when he got home in the evening his front and back doors were open and the dogs were waiting for him in the driveway. This stopped once he got the bright idea to lock his doors. :? Oddly enough, neither dog has ever opened a door h...

large rolling shades for a fence
Currently I have black plastic on my fence to block the dog's (Sirius mainly) view of passing traffic in front of the house. My neighbors have made comments as well as co-workers, my husband, his co-workers, my son, his friends, etc etc. What I like about the back plastic. It totally blocks vision. ...

Re: Sirius pup cup and hands off tank top
For those who want to copy the shirt, see my instructions for making one under the training tools section thread titled Thundershirt. The first sign I put on her had the words, "please don't pet me." I took her on a charity walk. While we were waiting for the walk to start, I turned around...

Sirius pup cup and hands off tank top
http://i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac47/MPbandmom/002.jpg No pictures of her waiting in line. I was too busy feeding treats to think about pictures. Our walk went well except for meeting the neighborhood dog that neither one of my dogs likes. I crossed the street, but Sirius still reacted poorly. S...

Did somebody trade dogs on me?
I took Sky for a walk at the local Battlefield park today. I had briefly considered taking both dogs, because I still hate leaving one behind, but the last time I took Sirius to the Battlefield, she drove me crazy with her nose on the ground, and the dogs have adjusted to one going out at a time. I ...
