Re: Can anyone help figure out what is wrong with my dog?

I am SO sorry for you and your family. :( My dog Goldie was making noises at the foot of my bed one night. When I got up to see what she was doing, she was having a seizure and I was afraid that was what was happening with your dog. Goldie died unexpectedly 6 months later when my friend found her on...

Re: Barking at night

I had this problem after adopting a 5 month old stray who was keeping me up for several nights to the point that I felt I was getting physically sick from lack of sleep. I tried several things, but the one thing that worked with Misty was the DAP plug in system. Amazon has them for 1/2 the price of ...

Re: Feedback on Housetraining JR Mix, Misty

Update on Misty: Stilling pooing outside without a problem (although if people would clean up after their dogs, it would be great!! Had to clean carpet at 3:30 am Sunday morning!). The problem still is peeing. :? Misty sometimes doesn't seem like she can wait or understanding to hold it for longer t...

Re: Wife wants to get rid of my dog!

Zeldacorgi reminded me of another tip I read about regarding feedings. My dog, Blackie, used to have her food out 24/7 and ate when she wanted without trouble (my other dogs were the same way.) I can control Misty's potty training much better by giving her scheduled feedings and I take her out withi...

Re: Wife wants to get rid of my dog!

Potty training...what about crate training? My dog, Misty, was not happy about the crate at first. But I started giving her treats to get her to go in it and feeding her in the crate without shutting the door. She still hesitates some, but goes in there now without too much trouble. She also never s...

Re: Feedback on Housetraining JR Mix, Misty

Misty does great when she is in the crate. I normally leave her with a Kong that has frozen peanut butter in it and a toy. She will even lay down for a nap when I want to take one on the weekends. I guess I am like all puppy parents that wonder if these days will ever end (probably the same for huma...

Feedback on Housetraining JR Mix, Misty

I have had Misty for 6 weeks now and she is 6 mos old. While not happy at first, she now goes into her crate without too much effort and with the help of the DAP plug-in. I think she now understands that this is a safe place for her. I feed her in her crate with her door open and sometimes she walks...

Re: KONG

I also found the puppy ones too small for my 6 mos old Jack Russell mix puppy. My 3 year old was also able to completely chew it apart when she grabbed it when I wasn't looking  I ended up getting the medium ones for her and they work great. I have used a knife which works okay, but the best th...

Re: Double Trouble

First of all I would like to say.. These dogs have a happier life then some people.. To make assumptions from a 1 hour based tv show that was cut & spliced more then you know is unbelievable!! The accusations that many of you have made is quite dissapointing & disgusting. I feel you should ...

Way to Go Victoria

I almost stopped watching this episode because the Mother made me so mad. I also could not believe the Dad. He was not involved at all and left everything to her. :x I too was expecting these dogs to be re-homed. I have two dogs now. A 3 year old (Blackie) and a new 6 mo old stray (Misty). Blackie i...

Re: Dog Pulling Help

Thanks for your input. Just to clarify a little, this is a very small dog park next to my apartment building provided by the manger of the complex. Most owners use it as a way for their dogs to play off leash and normally only the owner and their dog(s) are in there at any one time. If I see another...

Re: Barking

I will be interested to see how the blinds work. I had a dog, Sugar, that would chew through mine so she could see out. I just learned to pull up the ones she could see out of and problem was solved.
