Re: separation anxiety
It is a plug in diffuser similar to a Glade plug in. You plug in a small bottle of Dog Appeasing Pheramone liquid (DAP) into this plug in device and as it warms it emits a scent that comforts puppies. Believe me, I was very skeptical after trying it with another dog. It doesn't work with every dog b...

Re: separation anxiety
I have a part JR and thought I would literally go crazy with lack of sleep and ears ringing from her constant barking at night when I first adopted her. The one thing that worked was a DAP diffuser. The only brand I have seen is from a company called ComfortZone (I think that's it.) I was so tired I...

Re: Yet another post about housetraining (long post)
Emmabeth, I agree with you. Taking in a puppy is a huge responsibility and if your schedule does not allow for one, wait until it does. It has been challenging with my Misty (had her for 3 mths now) but each day is better. We just threw our first weekend without an accident! :D I don't believe a cra...

Re: Yet another post about housetraining (long post)
Skeeter's Mom, I TOTALLY understand where you are coming from. I have been working with Misty (also part JR) for over 2 months now. My bedroom seems to be her sneaking off place. I normally keep that door closed so she can't go in there when I am at home. She stays in her crate when I am at work alt...

Re: Fustrated/Thinking of Quitting
Thanks, Kalo. I love your dog's name - Cuddles. The first dog my family had was named Cuddles. She was a black cocker spaniel-poddle.
It only took about one day to train Misty on the bell. Each time I would take her out I would ring the bells. She learned very quickly.

Re: Fustrated/Thinking of Quitting
I started using the bell idea with my first dog, Sugar, by accident in 1993. Back then at Christmas time, one of the novelty things was a large jingle bell on a pretty ribbon you could wear around your neck. I didn't really care to do it after I was given one, so I hung it on my door. Well, Sugar ta...

Re: Walkeez Harness Discount
Thanks, Noobs. I have a flat coated retriever that is STUBBORN (read it is part of their breed.) Blackie can really plant her paws when she wants to sniff or see something and I don't want to hurt her. Also don't want Misty (newest family member) learning any bad habits. Took Misty and Blackie to my...

They are ordering them from Canada so you might be right. The discount more than makes up for it.

Walkeez Harness Discount
I read a lot on this site about the Walkeez Harness and wanted to get them for my 2 dogs to help in walking them and their pulling issues. I always search to see if a site has coupon codes out there when ordering and wanted to give everyone a heads up: www.allpetnaturals.com use code "save20&qu...

Update on Misty
Thanksfully, her UTI results were negative and she is now completely clear of worms. It is really sad what worms due to dogs. When I took her to get checked out 2 months ago when I decided to adopt her she weighed 19 pounds. Due to growth and de-worming, she weighed in yesterday at a healthy 32 poun...

Re: Feedback on Housetraining JR Mix, Misty
Thanks for the feedback. I am taking her to the vet tomorrow morning. I think you and others maybe right about an infection. I follow the same schedule as you. Took her out today when I came home for lunch at 12:30 and within 15 mins she was wanting back out. Bells - One Friday, Misty decided to lun...

Feedback on Housetraining JR Mix, Misty
Update on Misty: Stilling pooing outside without a problem (although if people would clean up after their dogs, it would be great!! Had to clean carpet at 3:30 am Sunday morning!). The problem still is peeing. Misty sometimes doesn't seem like she can wait or understanding to hold it for longer than...
