Hi,
Its a good game! My dog loves it!
I also do hide and seek and also some sniffing work ( hiding fruit and vegie's in boxes) When he picks up the smell he sits and looks at the box, then at me!

Re: dog breeds
I would recommend the collies! The border collies need to be exersized more often than rough collies.
Golden Retrievers are a friendly breed too!

Re: Dealing with a dog-reactive dog
Hi, I wasn't talking of a time out on a walk. But at home. Sounds like your on the right track. keep it up. it takes time, but you can get there. What their trainer suggested was, upon seeing another dog or people walking or anything, pull out a cheese stick or hot dog and constantly feed him a litt...

Re: Dealing with a dog-reactive dog
Hi, I get my inspiration from the wolf pack. When the dog gets time out, it gives him time to think and realise, that he was separated from all his friends. It does work. But I can understand where you are coming from. Sorry. shepherd103 - could you read through the forums and see the advice we give...

Re: Dealing with a dog-reactive dog
When dealing with a dog of any type that go nuts when they see other dogs in sight is because the dog believes he's the leader and that it's his right to protect and put the other dogs in their place. When the dog goes crazy, calmly take him by the collar and put him in a confined room for 2 minuets...

Hi,
I am not a proffesional groomer. But I groom and bath dogs at the kennels I work at.
I would recommend it a good profession to learn.

Re: Dog dryers.
Hello, Yes they can be exspensive. But they do work, I use my mum's hair dryer on my dog! But I groom and bath dogs at the kennels. We towl dry them or leave them to self dry. It also depends if your dog feels comfortable with it. I would suggest that you find a local groomer and watch them use the...

Re: PediPaws Review
My dog use to be nervous of the Pedi Paw.
But anyhow, I use to turn it on for a while, but I didn't use it on him until he was comfortable with the noise.
Within two days, he loves getting his nails done!

Natural Shampoo and Conditioner
Hello Everyone, I have a winning shampoo and conditioner! I get fantastic results with it on my collies. I use to have a sable rough collie called Cookie, her coat was neglected and was matted, coarse and stinky. For a while I tried exspensive shampoos, but they never worked. My mum had been using b...

Tip for dogs that get aggressive with the axe & the firewood
My dog ( Shepherd: 2yr old rough collie) use to get real aggressive when my father used the axe to chop the daily firewood during the winter. He'd try to nip and bite. I decided to put him on the lead, and I stood tall, took a deep breath then began walking pass my father while he chopped wood. I ma...
