Re: Dog Food- best choice
there's lots of good dog food available. you may have to switch brands several times before you find one that works for your dog and one that your dog likes. i switch kibble often. i probably have 10 cans of food on the shelf. out of the 10 cans there's 5 different brands. i mainly use the can food ...

Re: Socialization: Am I doing more harm than good?
how do you socialize without involving all of the things you listed plus other things? you definitely don't want to stress the pup. short sessions but often. Without a doubt, socialization is not about how many different people/dogs/kids/cats/ect she meets, or how many different environments she fin...

Re: Socialization: Am I doing more harm than good?
i was out and about with my pup after his 2nd round of shots. i got my dog when he was 9 weeks old. i socialized him slowly. we did a lot of things but just a little at a time. i socialized in the same manner as i train, slow, short sessions and consistently. at 8 weeks old everything is new. you ca...

is he peeing when you're home? if so watch him closely. maybe have him leashed
and attached to you. take him out more often. crate him when you can't watch him.

when you play hide and seek does your dog see what direction the person is going when they hide? have you ever hidden something and send your dog to "find it". "find it" is something you can do indoors. Belgian and I play some mind games. He loves hide and seek. You need two or m...

Re: Adding to the family
not sure why you think being 2 hours apart would stress the dogs when they meet or a 2 hour ride would stress either dog? i would introduce the dogs. i would have both dogs leashed and meet on neutral ground and go for a walk. don't push the dogs on each other. i would also take that 2 hour ride man...

Re: New puppy
what mistake? you have a pup and he's acting like a pup. what are you teaching your pup by having him crated and let out every 2 hours? with training, socialization and being near you your pup will settle down and become a well trained, highly socialized dog but that's only if you take the neccessar...

Re: Help needed training my deaf British bulldog
the hand signal works if the dog picks something up that you don't want him to have. the dog picks up a bottle, you give the signal for leave it. the dog releases the bottle. if you see the dog is going to pick up a bottle you can give the signal. when my dog was in training i could tap the leash to...

Re: Is it wrong for a dog to walk in front of it's person?
i think if a dog was stressed about being in front they wouldn't do it. i taught my dog to heel on either side with or without a leash. if i want him to switch sides i say "other side". walking a pulling dog is a total inconvience. you're allowed to train dogs after taking a 2 week course?...

Re: Harness
you could teach your dog to "heel".
