I add water to my dog's food as well, and have done this for years with no ill effects. I would take a stool sample in to your vet. It's possible that it's a parasite, and the time that it started happening is just coincidental. Shippo got VERY sick once after eating some new treats and I thought it...

All the foods listed in recalls on those articles are mid-to-low-grade foods (I still consider Merrick to be mid-grade because they have yet to improve on their quality control). None of the foods I have ever fed were listed, and none have ever been involved in recalls, so not ALL pet foods are bad....

It sounds to me like both dogs were fed together, with no human supervision, or intervention when the older dog bullied the younger one and wouldn't let him eat or play with his toys. A situation such as that, to me, is a recipe for disaster later on, when the younger dog grows up and has had enough...

and so true, how many times does this sort of thing happen. Like if you go to a resturant alone and the hostess says "two?" me I look to my right and say "I told you to stay in the car". (there is no one there of course) Got a nice table way away from everyone. LOL! That's aweso...

Wow... this was a good discussion about pet food, but it's probably going to end up getting locked because of some kind of hidden drama... <_< How disappointing. Also, usually when I provide sources on an internet forum, they are links to informative news or scientific articles, as it makes it a lot...

Finally, if the Western diet is so healthy, why is most of the population obese or otherwise unhealthy? Because most people just plain don't eat healthy, meat or no meat. Fattening and unhealthy foods are very addictive and once you start eating them, it takes willpower to quit. I'd feed raw if I c...

Finally, if the Western diet is so healthy, why is most of the population obese or otherwise unhealthy? Because most people just plain don't eat healthy, meat or no meat. I'd feed raw if I could afford it. Unfortunately, meat is very expensive around here. Also, all kibble is not the devil. If you ...

Eevee is simply more difficult to photograph, so I don't get good pictures of her as often. I have plenty of them that I've collected over time though. Here are a few, just so people know that Eevee's not neglected: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v159/ShroudedCheetah/EeveeVCollar1.jpg http://img....

LOL well most of it gets brushed out during the daily brushings, but for the rest, I invested in a Dyson before I got him. He sheds enough for three dogs but brushing and vacuuming it seems to keep it in check. =3

Shippo at the Park (Pics)

I decided that today was a good day for a walk in the park, so I leashed Shippo up and went. Here is the result: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v159/ShroudedCheetah/Shippo/Shippo3YrStack.jpg Decent "stack-like" pic http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v159/ShroudedCheetah/Shippo/ShippoSitP...

Hiking with Shippo

Well, today I decided to check out the Colorado Hills Open Space in Westminster, CO, and took Shippo with me. It wasn't terribly interesting, but a nice long hike, and I got a couple Shippo pics I thought I'd share. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v159/ShroudedCheetah/Shippo/ShippoHike1.jpg http:/...

If it's a real concern you can always use a Brake Fast bowl. At the doggy daycare place i used to work at, there were two dogs who would scarf their food and then vomit, so their owners brought them in for boarding with this bowl: http://www.brake-fast.net/ It works great as the dogs have to slow do...
