Re: My Dog
Missing you and I love you buddy... :( I wasn't sure if he had died or you had to leave him, I hope you are able to buy him back, you have a strong bond with him. I have a new dog, Cyril, this is when I got him http://positively.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=9293&p=64649&hilit=cyril#p6...

Re: Update - Jack, diarrhea, food
Maybe you should start eating at MacDonalds every day, when asked why say you are having the same food as Jack  Maybe not, that will probably cause trouble which you don't want. I used to homecook for Tommy when she was in the final stages kidney failure, would have done it for Merlin as well b...

She is gorgeous and really enjoying herself  I wouldn't leave out the clicker yet, the clicker tells her that is what you want as she is trying to anticipate, not sure if you are giving her commands or not but if you are and she is anticipating she hasn't learn the command properly yet so still...

I would crate her, she needs a nice comfy bed inside the crate, have the crate next to your bed so you can talk to her if she starts to cry. Dogs don't like to toilet were they sleep.

Re: Why spay and neuter your pets
I can't read or watch those, not because I am in denial, I have done a lot for dogs in the past, have had 12 rescues over the years of my own, fosterered and turned round dogs with problems caused by humans and have 4 rescue dogs now, 3 came direct from a pound were they would have been pts. I will ...

Re: Heartbroken at strange agression
I had problems with tying my dogs up at first as well, I had different dogs then who were really well behaved, it was a case of accept it or sell the caravan. My dogs are happy being tied up, even my 2 new ones didn't bother when I tied them up outside my van. I did have 2 dogs that couldn't wear co...

Re: no jump harness
Never thought of doing a search for one, my brain isn't what it used to be, old age.
The poor dogs, they are only doing what dogs do so for that they get horrible gadgets put on them. It seems that many people were missed when brains were given out.

Re: Thinks "dog-run" chain is punishment!
I once took on a dog that 6ft 7ins was nothing for her to jump, we couldn't raise the fence any higher so we took the top 2ft off and sloped this inwards with stock fencing on the slope. At last Tommy couldn't jump the fence, peace at last  The we got Joe, he didn't attempt to jump the fence, h...

What about raw feeding him? Do you think your OH will accept that?

Re: How to toilet train your puppy or adult dog.
From Greyhounds to Dachsunds, not much difference  Stop the carrying her, this could be making her more anxious, many dogs don't like being picked up but will happily jump up onto your knee if you are sitting down. You can attach her to your waist so you can watch her, once you see her moving t...

Re: Eating problem
Hi Mattie, My use of the word "rather" indicated I wouldn't use the word "sharply" without a qualifier, as you did. If you even disagree that a dog should not have a " rather sharply concave" waist, that's your option, of course, but the extra word was put there for a ...

I am in he same position as you, Bonnie is really good normally but not when in the caravan, I have been trying for nearly 6 years to stop this and this is the only way. Dogs don't suffer from being tied up outside a caravan or tent, mine are only outside when I can sit with them, they are happy bec...

Sorry I had forgotten that some wild boars have been released into some parts of the UK, not used to having them. Ladybug, Like Nettle I would be pleased if you started a thread on hunting, there are many different ways to hunt. Having seen gangrene several times, I wouldn't wish that on any one or ...

Re: Eating problem
Well done Minkee, the top drawing is to me a deep chested dog like a Greyhound, whippet etc. Many breeds don't have that deep chest, Cyril being a Staffy doesn't have it that deep neither does Dolly who has a very long back. Bonnie being Lab/Collie is between Dolly and a Greyhound. They do nee to go...
