Re: Raw Food Diet

Thanks Clare! I appreciate the encouragement! :D I'm feeling much more relaxed and confident in this diet now. And I have to say, I get a little kick out of picturing your tiny little Ted chomping his way through a chicken wing! My Dad calls him Tiny Ted too! Ted gets fed whole chickens and r...

Re: "You should put her on a choke chain."

This is the bag I have for Honey http://www.petego.com/category/26/Carriers/product/207/UniversalSportBagPlusBlackLabel if you're in the U.S. I got it from this place http://www.roofbox.co.uk/scripts/rbvehsel4_tab.php/car-accessories/usb_plus_black_label_small_animal_carrier_no_erusbpbl/njNA_v5txSb...

Re: "You should put her on a choke chain."

I have a bag for Honey but it is simply because I don't have a car so the bag means I can take her on the bus/train to new places to walk. One day while waiting for the bus a teen-age school girl going past with her friends declared loudly "Oh my god that's so cruelllll". I carry Ted up t...

Re: "You should put her on a choke chain."

I got a stranger suggesting I abuse Ted when walking him yesterday. But not with a choke chain "you should get a bag to carry him in" ... I was fuming too, not as bad as your experience but still very annoying  I just said "errrrr he's a dog jot a doll" and walked off but w...

Re: Raw Food Diet

I don't know, maybe it's because I'm feeding a puppy and I have the extra concern that I don't mess up her growth and development by feeding her "wrong", but my head is spinning! I felt like this when I started feeding Ted RMB (and still do now from time to time), made worse by the fact t...

Re: vaccination status (titer) testing... revisited...

Check out a new article by vet Mark Elliott in Mark Elliott and Associates website under 'Our Vision'. Check out Canine Health Concern website with quoted research too. Ah one of those articles was the one I was trying to find again (not sure how I stumbled on it the first time). Having looked at t...

Holy cr@p! I didn't realise until I got Ted that people seem to see dogs as public property, not sure I'll ever get used to it. What would possess a person to say such a thing!

Re: Hello from Ted and me

Ah thanks both, he's too cute for his own good.

Good job he ended up with me or he'd probably be in someone's handbag now (I've had people shout at me in the street "oh put him in your handbag" or "I want him for my handbag", makes me angry

Hello from Ted and me

I've sort of done this back to front as I've just cracked on posting without introducing myself! Anyway, I'm Clare and I live in Blackheath, London, with my boyfriend Stuart and our Long Haired Chihuahua, Ted (nearly 5 months old). This is my second dog, having had a Jack Russell as a teenager (alth...

Re: Raw Food Diet

Thinking about taking the plung at least for one meal. I have been giving the dogs raw meaty bones for breakfast which they absolutely love and Orijin Regional Poultry and fish kibble for supper. I have been giving chicken wings 4 days a week and pork hoves or neck, or beef neck 3 days a week. But ...

Re: vaccination status (titer) testing... revisited...

Still want to do this though as I did explain our boy does have definite reactions each time - generalised itchy and allergy flair ups. Also I'm sure I read a document somewhere that suggested over vaccination can actually reduce immunity and that often once the initial puppy jabs are done one boos...

Re: Bones - How long before taking them away?

I feed Ted raw meaty bones and he has the longer of half an hour or when he stops eating and starts doing something else to eat. I do a similar thing with recreational bones for snacking. My main concern is the bone drying out as then it can splinter a bit like a cooked bone so it's this I think you...

Re: Potty Training

She comes up to us and seems like she is trying to tell us she needs to go, but everytime we take her out back in my yard she is to distracted by everything else she never goes. I have a 4.5 ,month old long coat baby chi and he is very easily distracted too. We're working on that when out walking w...

Re: puppy does not like to be petted

I stop people from touching my dogs' heads all the time. If they get persistent, I get in their space and touch their heads while staring them hard in the eyes. You can probably only get away with this if you are an old witch like me  "Confrontational, isn't it?" I say, while ruf...
