Re: Seed stuck in eye.
you could try to flush it out. have your OH hold her. you lift her eye lid and quiclky pour some water in it. don't use cold water. you could have your OH hold her. lift her eye lid. take a wet paper towel and apply it directly to the seed. i wonder if a wet q-tip would work? if you don't feel comfo...

Re: Just accept it?
if you're going to accept his behaviour muzzle him when in public.
you could find a trainer and take private lessons. maybe you could
find one dog to train and socialize around. as your dog progresses
around the one dog slowly add another dog to the training.
you have a nice looking dog.

i wouldn't shave him completely. their fur protects them. maybe a little triming.
ask your breeder about triming. contact an English Springer club and ask them.

i'm glad your dog is ok. i think you should teach your dog to "come" and
"stop" on command. keep your leashed when you're near the barbed wire.

Re: A good first time breed?
make sure you have the time and money for a dog. it takes a lot of time and
consistency to train and socialize. i think the first couple of years and the last years
are the most expensive years. having the time for the dog is so important.

use the directions on the bag as a guide line. learn how to tell if your dog is
to thin or to fat. don't let your dog dictate how much to feed.

Re: Socializing and Leash Training Problems with Puppy
your dogs playing is bothering you. does your dog playing bother the other dogs in his class? the other dogs will let him know when he's to much for them. your dog is 4 months old. he may be to young for such a command. work on it. i find training in sessions works best. i train indoors and outside....

Re: Interesting Discussion re: choke chains
my boy had a flat collar untill he 9 months old. then i switched to a choker.
when i switched to a choker my dog already knew to how to heel on either
side with or without a leash. popping the collar was never used as a correction.

Re: New dog and chickens
it doesn't matter if your dog got a taste of chicken blood. you can
still train your dog not to harm the chickens. make sure your dog
doesn't have access to the chickens. leashed, slow introductions
may help.
