was the rabbit toy like this, made with rabbit hide? I could get a squeaker put it in, that seems to attract her attention!

Other things that come up on a search seem to be toy rabbits, no real hide in sight!

hey! you are doing really well! To be able to get a Beagle's attention when there are soooo many smells around it something! The smellier the treat the better with your girlie, it seems!! I know someone from classes that has a real rabbit fur toy and their dog goes wild for it. Possibly not for the...

Just an update - Beagler, see my post in 'exercise' - sooo happy with her! That time on the beach was off-lead for about 20 seconds, had her off for a good half hour today! She still won't take treats from my hands unless it's raw chicken/liver - maybe because her raw meals are so yummy that treats ...

Reducing meals

When we first brought our pup home and took her for a vet check I remember him saying she should start to lose interest in her lunchtime meal at around 14-16 weeks and so should start to offer her less at this time and reduce to 2 meals a day. I'm feeding her raw at the moment and she loves her meal...

Yeah, but after a horrible adolescence, you get your lovely dog back again :P Good for you for putting in the work. I just 'happen' to be working full time on placement round about when she'll be 6 months to a year old so OH will be taking over as main dog sitter then. Wonder how that worked out so...

Just wanted to share

Teagan's only been out on proper walks about a week or so now and I've found a great little dog-friendly park about 10 minute drive away at the end of a street my friend lives on. So took her over there, made sure I had a pocket full of yummy chicken and let her off lead (for more than 12 seconds th...

I wouldn't worry about a smack from the cat, our girl has had a fair few and still keeps going back for more - she won't do it again if the cat means business! I think humping is a way of sorting out pecking order, it's completely natural and again I wouldn't worry about it - especially as the cat d...

aw poor Ellie - she's a dobie isn't she, so tail stump is quite short? How about one of those cone collars to stop her licking while you're not there. it might let it at least heal a bit? Although don't do what my OH did when we got our cat spayed - the vet told him if it was too big to cut a bit of...

Dr Ian Billinghurst in 'Grow Your Pups With Bones' says that a dog should only grow to 75% of its potential. Not saying he's right or wrong, but it's something to think about. I don't have 'grow your pup with bones' I have 'the barf diet', I never knew that! I think I read that they should grow slo...

toys

Has anyone bought a toy their dog hated? I was dead certain my girl would love one of those balls that make noises when they are touched and rolled around - but nooooo! She's not exactly frightened of it (I don't think I've found anything she is frightened of yet, still at 'that age' ;)) but she jus...

Stairs to kamikaze jump off, tripod stands to knock over, camera straps and lenses to attack and chew, photographers to jump on, paper set to tear up...!

To be fair we do have a fantastic one of her running towards the camera, ears flapping away - that's gonna be on canvas! :)
