[quote="WufWuf" One last question, how long do they keep for in the fridge? Oh and I shudder when I imagine biting a piece off, you've a brave lady [/quote] Sorry, I've only just seen this :? I find that the harder they are the longer they keep. The softer ones only seem to last a we...

Oh Judy, I'm afraid I can't help either but what with this and you stripping off to rescue him you need to write a book! Oh and your reference to his 3am poo always makes me laugh, Ted's more of a 4am man himself

Re: Hello from Tonka and me
So when I take him to the park or when I want to take him for a walk around the block I get him on the leash and he just sniffs around and doesn't move or really want to move. I need to know the best way to approach this situation. Should I use a leash when he is in our yard? It's not that he is fr...

Re: I love it when my dog(s)...
This is not my dog but my friends who emigrated to Tenerife have a pit bull x staffie, Bruce, who no matter how long it's been since I've seen him will be waiting at the door for me with a stuffed toy to play tug with as he knows I'm a sucker for playing games with him. But the thing I love most abo...

Re: The Joy of Puppy Training
Ted occasionally likes to walk and pee if I praise him too early which I obviously don't want to encourage! And he too does occasionally have the odd accident, I find that it's best for me to walk out of the room if I catch him mid the act as otherwise I'm sure I give off angry vibes and even though...

Re: Wasp stings
I've been wondering how she's doing today. Not sure if it's the same with dogs but one of my friends with a nut allergy accidentally ate a nut in a curry (let's not go there!) and ended up in intensive care, had to have adrenaline shots etc etc. It took her at least a few weeks to get back to normal...
Re: combing
Brian, I'm not expert but how often you brush/comb your dog is a bit of a "it depends" :D Long haired dogs tend to need more regular brushing than short haired or they can get very tangled. Both need more frequent brushing when their coats are shedding (unless your dog doesn't shed and nee...

Re: Ted
On this morning's walk Ted found a stick that he took a shine to so we played a bit of fetch. Here is is waiting for the stick to be thrown (I love his concentrating face) :D http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6240/6240299004_68525b1a87.jpg And here is is running back with it (sorry it's a bit blurred b...

Hopefully this will get her through the night, not sure what will get me through the emergency call out vet's bills! Poor Scout, let's hope she's back to her normal self tomorrow. You'll have to get drawing/painting it seems though, your stuff is great so i'm sure you'll have it covered quickly :D

Re: Explaing Positive Reinforcement, rethinking key "sound bits"
I'm not a marketeer so I haven't got this into a catchy sound bite but it might be worth weaving in some stuff about the benefits to handlers, what's in it for them personally to appeal the human being's naturally selfish side  (so besides a "better behaved", happier dog, knowing yo...

Dilly - when he trots into the room with one of his floppy ears cocked over his head, because it tells me he has stolen something! It gives him away every time, he would be no good at poker! Ted has a similar trait in the form of the way he runs, there's a certain trot which means either a) I...
