Re: The Funnies Thread...

Huh. Thank you for sharing that information with me, but...well...damn. That's a serious bummer. I had driven someone else's pony years ago, and thought it great fun and a possibility for senior years. Dallas was very patient and would never volunteer anything if it meant expending energy, so drivin...

Re: The Funnies Thread...

Excluding the artificial hardware, I'm in horseless misery at stage 8.5 -- 0.5 from having given
away last filly bred as she was too young to retire. Now once again longing for Stage 9 thanks
to Oya and Gossip, making friends roll their eyes and make annoying comments when I mention it....

Re: Question

Look closely the next time you catch her lying on her chest. That looser skin shifts as the joints bend and
straighten, so it can be misleading. I bet it is under the point of her elbow. My GSDs all had that too,
and it meant nothing serious.

Just because it's a stickman doesn't mean that all hell won't break loose.

Re: Refraining from posting on fear-based issues...

There is no reason on this earth to deliberately bring internet upset into your life. While you might have some observations to contribute that might help someone else, on the whole there will be no negative repercussions to stepping back from a place you KNOW is going to disrupt your state of mind....

It's also in the medical dictionary. Just an FYI.

Re: What names will you use for future dogs?

What are some of the worst names you've heard? One of my girls came as a 10 week old pup through
a rescue group, who had dubbed her The Big White Pig.

*sigh* She was rather rolypoly....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJrupqPqKYo&feature=player_detailpage This is a Japanese Transformer Owl video. He's actually a Southern Whitefaced owl, but this video shows two of his threat displays and the second one is hard to believe. I know it's not funny to let a poor little owl feel threa...

Re: What names will you use for future dogs?

My sister always bulked at this (thinking she had to keep the animals original name or it would confuse or upset them until I pointed out that if the dog came to her as a stray she wouldn't know their original name anyway and they'd adjust just fine in a few days to a new one). This little insight ...

Oh, they are delightful! I am so happy for you! Personally, I'm an unattractive shade of
foal-hungry green, but if you keep sharing them with us, I may get over it :)

Re: What's on your dog's Xmas list?

Coats for dogs that look like polar bears is rather redundant, so my dogs are getting the
same thing they get every year. Big fresh raw butcher bones :) And I give another cheer
for no carpeting flooring.

what do you think of a dog that never wags?

Hi all, Something dawned on me today (yes, I can be very slow), and I thought I'd ask opinions of our list members about it. What do you think of a dog that almost never wags her tail? Her eyes are happy. Her body language is relaxed, but never does she use her tail to express herself except for the...

Re: Puppy has Parvo

Puppy is lucky to have found such caring people as your sister and yourself.
Her fate would surely be sealed, otherwise. Sending positive energy, good
vibes, prayers, and anything else that might be helpful.

Re: Need Help!

Well, today is Moving Day so this is being put on the back burner for the next couple of days. I'm pretty sure if anyone brings it up this weekend, my husband is going to explode. (((Hugs!)))) Moving is definitely the priority. I sympathise with both you and your husband on this exciting and stress...

Re: Need Help!

That doesn't seem exactly fair to either of you. In my opinion, if they love this dog so much they want a vote in her future, then they should step up and help with her care and placement. Most people don't get visiting rights without child support. Sorry, still working tonight and feeling snarky. G...
