Re: Belgian Shepard/ Sheepdog
He is BEAUTIFUL! Almost looks similar to the one I had growing up.
Gordie is still a baby so he is filling out nicely.

Re: Going Balistic
When they pull I turn around but I don't continue to walk. I tried that but I got the results you did with them not wanting to follow. If you turn around and stand with your back to them, they will eventually walk around the front of you as if to ask "what's up". My Golden used to do the s...

Re: Belgian Shepard/ Sheepdog
I grew up with a Belgian, which is why I have always wanted one. Here in the states they are not a common breed. At least not the type I have. It took me almost six months to find mine. Then I got lucky and a breeder here in Michigan had a young dam that was only on her second litter so her puppies ...

Re: Young Dog Acting Like An Old Dog
She is on Dasuquin for her joints. We have been trying the only working her half day on the golf course. I can't really explain how much this dog will run in a day if we allow her to. She will even run when she is in pain. She grew up on the course and she spends her days running from one end of the...

Big HUGS for you! It can't be easy alone, not the same but I raised my six kids alone in a small home and nobody told me to rehome them. Keep your chin up things will improve.

Re: I am devastated and need help.
So glad you are feeling better and more confident. I at times am overwhelmed with my heard as I call them. Our golden is 75 lbs, and our new baby is only 6 mnths but already a 45 lb Belgian with a mind of his own. Add our three rescued cats to the mix and I feel like I live in animal planet. The cat...

Re: Young Dog Acting Like An Old Dog
She was given a full exam head to foot. With five animals, two dogs and three cats we get red carpet treatment at the vets office lol. Our vet put her on levothyroxine .6 given twice a day. Emma has been fixed so no season for her. She also takes Dasequinne one tablet a day to supplement her joints....

Re: Getting in the trash
Try a metal trash can with a lid, the ones that you have step on the lever to open the lid. I find this works like a charm.

Young Dog Acting Like An Old Dog
Good Afternoon All! I am having the hardest time with our wonderful Golden Retriver. She just turned two years old a few months ago, but in the past month has started to act as if she is old. Everyday she goes to work with my boyfriend and has free run of the golf course. She runs all day long and i...

Re: petting a shy dog
I unfortunately see this a lot with people and it really upsets me and makes me sad. They get a dog because they like how it looks, or the dog is in "fashion" at the moment. They don't research temperments, or anything about the breed. When we got our first dog we knew we wanted it to be s...

Re: Going Balistic
I have had issues with my two dogs pulling. Emma (2) has never really been walked a lot on a leash as she has free run of a golf course all day everyday as the course Dog. Our 5 month old Gordie pulls simply because he is learning. What has worked for me is taking them on walks seperatly. Gordie lun...

Re: Very Confused
Potty training is definatly a struggle. Our two year old Golden was soooooooooo easy. This has not been the case with our 5 month old Belgian Shepard! He will literally stand infront of you and pee on the floor. The first two months I thought he was getting it down and then I realized that the only ...

Re: Can a dog just be bad?
I had issues with our cat urinating in our house and couldn't figure it out. It was to the point that when I was moving into another house that we had revenivated from a forclosure that was destroyed by animals, that I was going to have my beautiful 13 year old cat to sleep. I just didnt' know what ...
