Re: From Puppy to Dog food

Just my 2 cents worth, without getting into an argument with the other posters. If your dog does well on Iams, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with Iams. The reason for puppy foods is that puppies grow quickly, they need more calories, and calcium than an adult dog does. I just finished reading a ...

Re: Purina Vetrinary Diets vs Acana

Stephanie, I am unclear as to what you mean by purina veterinary diets. If you are referring to the prescription diets, I don't think you would want to change it. While the veterinary field is frequently accused of being greedy, etc. what do you think the woman at the botique is hired to do? Sell do...

Re: Changing Foods

The previous poster is under the care of a DVM, please do not supplement a large breed puppies diet without first consulting your veterinarian, too much calcium in their diet can cause permanent bone damage such as hypercalcemia, feeding raw eggs can cause a riot of skin and coat problems due to the...

Not all flea shampoo's, ear cleaners etc are created equal. If she has had reactions in the past, call you vet and ask for a recommendation for produts that most likely will not cause reactions. :D

Re: When to neuter?

Sarah 83, vet clinics can be bad places too,( how else would I have wound up with 5 dogs. ) Like you, I see many that there just aren't homes for, and the owner can "save money" cause it is cheaper to have them euthanized than it is to pay the fee at the shelters to turn your dog ov...
