Abby does a lot of these same things, including hiking her leg to pee on trees, which mostly results in peeing on herself... but she tries anyway. She isn't a very good running partner for this reason...stop, sniff, pee, sniff, pee...repeat x a million.

He is such a sweet boy..love your pics. I've always seen the biggest dogs acting the most like babies at the vet, too. How could you not feel sorry for him with that face?

Great thread!! We used to ask Neo if she wanted to go out and see her squirrels instead of saying potty, or go outside. So if she heard "squirrels" she was over at the door waiting. Abby knows every word imaginable for food-time..hungry, eat, dinner, supper...we've resorted to spelling it ...

Thank you so much for posting!! Neo used to make the strangest noises too..we called her an alien dog because of the sounds that would come out of her, especially while sleeping. To his credit, it's a really difficult decision.

I'm sure you already know this, but make sure you transition to the new food very slowly..I've always taken at least 2 weeks to fully transition to a new food, and sometimes longer depending on what my dog needs. Also, I highly recommend Fromm's grain free formulas.

What a bad situation, bendog, but applause to you for putting your dog first and trying to do what's best for her. I think you hit the nail on the head when you mentioned that she's 9 and has spent 8 of those years suffering, and also with the bite incident requiring privileges to be taken away bein...

I think you're right, Ari, and Judy. We definitely haven't been correcting her...in fact she hardly gets corrected for anything anyway.. :lol: When she asks for a snuggle, she gets one, regardless of what else is going on. If she wants to follow me around the kitchen for a while, or help me do chore...

He is so gorgeous! That first pic you can really tell how tall he is. He is lucky to have such nice owners..we live in a warm place or else I think I'd be right out there shoveling with you, considering Abby won't even go out to pee if it's cloudy...
