Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2

We are back already from 1 hr walk, His Highness already had breakfast, and unsuccessfully tried to wake up dear wife upstairs, now back downstairs full of energy asking me to chase him around the house.. if i don't - he will run around by himself and bark, which will wake up wif...

Re: Early feeding time
Ari is much more relaxed about meal times than the cat. The cat... she demands, loudly. We ended up defining the objective of finding her meal times this way - "she must not wake up humans in the middle of the night". So now - 1 st meal of the day is at 10 PM of the previous day.... then s...

Re: To much puppy
If RR puppy doesn't live there and comes to visit - taking her out for a good, long, interesting, sniffy walk before she comes over may be a thing to try. For the brother, of course... At 13 months it's not very reasonable to expect her to behave and show perfect manners, this is the worst age - a c...

Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2
Ridgebacks don't fight/kill lions either. Kids seem disappointed when I break the news to them during our walks, by the way. - Wow, looks at that dog, he fights lions! - No, kid(s), he doesn't, that would be pretty stupid of him. Ridgebacks can keep a lion at bay, which takes a lot of courage and sk...

Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2
Ari saw a policewoman the other day who was on her lunch break, trying to enjoy her sandwich or burger, which I didn't realize until it was too late... All she said was "hmmm.. that's a friendly puppy you've got there". God bless her. The 6 year old "friendly puppy" with crocodil...

Re: Cording a Poodle
I have to admit, I missed the point of this experiment... is it to make him better looking, or is there more to it, some other benefits for him?

You welcome the dog into your family. You give him equal rights. You spend years learning to understand the dog. You try hard to even become part dog yourself, and eventually become very proud of how well you know him. But one day you take a step back and realize that - while your were reading all t...

Re: Puppy afraid of downstairs bathroom
Floor (tiles)... smell... different light or less light... anything, really.
Is this an issue though?
I'd leave her be, praise/reward her when she finds the courage to venture in, and let her take her time making sure it's as safe place.
