My Tony would react VERY similarly...

Re: Holy smoke - preparing to evacuate.
Good luck, and safe wishes to you, your family (4-leggeds included), and your home. Here in AZ we just had 19 reminders of how dangerous wildfires can be.

Re: SPARCS Origin in the Wild conference
I missed the last two days because I was moving, but I heard that the last panel discussion was terrible and advised aversives. :( TBH, I couldn't stand Coppinger during the times I saw him speak. He seems really full of himself. I guess it would be difficult not to be...everyone commenting in the c...

I might leave a note with an envelope of cash for the chicken...but stay anonymous to protect Poppy. Not sure if you could get into some legal trouble and lose her over something like that?

Very true. Also be careful not to make the tosses too sudden/fast.

Re: does not trust humans (fear)
In addition to the wonderful advice others have given, I wanted to provide you with a video of a force-free technique used for fearful dogs. It's called treat-retreat. You basically throw treats behind the dog, so when they go for the treat they get distance from you and it relieves the "pressu...

Re: Vent!
I gotta say, it always throws me off when posters here use the " " icon instead of the " " when they are legitimately upset. I've always seen it used as more of a "mischievous grin." lol The other trainer at the rescue isn't responding to my latest post...
