Just a quick update - I've found a very acceptable compromise, that is, a seatbelt tether. It attaches to his regular harness and is about 6 inches long. I keep it in the car and just attach it to his harness after he is in. Keeps him in his place without making him feel he is too restricted. Thanks...

Those frogs that lived underwater were probably African Clawed frogs - did you ever notice if they had little claws on their back feet?

Haven't gotten the dog yet (it's a matter of days at this point) but I am the proud owner of a tomato frog (not the endangered kind), an african clawed frog and some kind of catfish.

I've had experience with a dog who did this due to separation anxiety. Exactly when does this occur?
