Re: Refusing to House Train
Helpful idea for barking in crate.... I have a part Jack Russell named Misty who did not like her crate and would bark continually. Although I was skeptical when I bought it, I got a Comfort Zone DAP plug in and it worked like a charm! Although she is not thrilled always to go in the crate, she now ...

Dog Pulling Help
I have read several posts regarding ways to teach a dog not to pull while walking. I have a 55 pound flat coated retriever named Blackie. She pulls when I walk her whether we go just a short way to the dog park or when I have a harness on her for a long walk. This morning there was another dog in th...

Re: Whip Worms and Puppy
Thanks for replying. I have a powder that I put on her food for three days plus an antibiotic for a bacterial infection. After the three doses, I wait three weeks then do another 3 doses. Hopefully this will help.

Re: problem with a Jack Russel Terrier
I have a part Jack Russell that went through separation anxiety where I thought I would never get any sleep. Here are a couple of things I did that worked: Get DAP. This worked in a couple of hours (no exaggeration!). I have the plug in plus a spray bottle that I spray on her bedding in her crate. I...

Whip Worms and Puppy
My 6 mo old puppy, Misty had worms when I adopted her (she was a stray). Thought we took care of it with vet meds, but still having diarrhea so took a sample to the vet. Whip worms and bacterial infection. On new meds. Has anyone dealt with these things before?
Thanks, from a worried Mama.

Re: Puppy Training Help
Thanks, Fundog. I have enjoyed reading your posts about your two dogs. Misty did it again at our lunch walk so I will try to make our end of day walk a little shorter.

Puppy Training Help
This forum was great a little over a year ago when I had questions about my newly adopted flat coated retriever so I am back with questions about my new puppy. Misty was a stray that hung around my friend's farm with another dog. Well, unfortunately, the other dog was hit by a car and killed. My fri...

Blackie's Behavior
I have a 1 year old flat coated retriever named Blackie. She is a sweet and good natured dog, but there are a couple of things I could use advice about: She likes to lick your clothes and like cotton in general. How do I get her to stop this? She will have several chew toys out (I alternate them so ...

Tried it and she did great
Well, I went on ahead and tried it yesterday while I was at church. It was so cold outside and she had been doing great chewing on her stuff. When I got home, I stuck my head in the door to have a look around and everything was fine! I had also left her with a chew and a Kong filled with peanut butt...

How do you know when it is okay to leave dog in house?
I adopted an almost 1 year old flat coated retriever about 3 weeks ago. I walk her twice daily, come home at lunch to let her out (and walk her) and then play with her and give her attention after I get home from work. She stays outside when I am at work or running an errand because I am nervous abo...
