Re: Can stress cause health problems?
Just to answer your question, yes, studies show us that canines in a constant state of stress, do suffer health issues, much the same as humans. High levels of continuous stress are linked to heart disease, stroke and cancer. Now, if you provide the details of your particular situation, I am sure so...

Re: Food
Now, with all due respect there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with cooked, cracked corn, unless your dog has an allergy to it. It is a good source of protein, and enzymes. Grains such as cooked corn and rice are easily digested by dogs, rice does in fact help the dogs production of seritonin in their ...

Re: Teeth Cleaning
If you go to www.aspca.org click on to dog care, then type in tooth brushing in the search bar, they have instructions for starting to brush your pets teeth, these instructions are positive reinforcement, and come from the American veterinary dental association. Good luck, I think you and your dog w...

Re: Orijen Puppy Food
Each dog is an individual, if your dog has volumous stools, consistant gas that smells bad, there may be something in the Orijen food that she is allergic to. Just because a food is all natural, organic and highly recommended does not protect each and every dog from having an allergy to it :D High p...

Just to give you an example of what Jacks Dad is saying, it is illegal in most of the 50 states to sell dogs under 8 weeks old, open your Sunday paper almost every weekend you will see adds for puppies "6 weeks old and ready to go". I don't think you really want me to answer what the punis...

Re: Teeth Cleaning
There really isn't an "age". This is one of the things vets check when your dog has her/his annual exam, we check for broken teeth, retained teeth, tartar build up, gum injuries etc. If you would like to start brushing her teeth I would highly recommend it. I brush my boys' teeth once a da...

I recently had the obligation of filing complaints with several agencies due to over 30 dogs in a small confined area, all malnourished, NONE spayed or neutered, mange, open infected draining wounds etc. In an effort to understand these people (I still don't) I did some research that I found interes...

Re: Upset stomach
Ok then, here is the list of questions I would be asking myself, the big threat here is dehydration. Did this dog ingest something (household cleaner, lawn or pest spray?) 2. Has the vomitting/diarreha gotten worse, stayed the same? Is your dog routinely tested for parasites? (yes, worms can have th...

I think there is a "how to" thread on feeding raw on this very site. try the search bar, the folks that feed raw on here, know what they are doing, and have been feeding raw for a long time now, I would absolutely trust the information they give to be much more accurate than some of the (*...

Re: Upset stomach
It is not clear to me what exactly is going on here, is he vomiting only when he eats? Is he vomiting mucos? Is he vomiting any sort of pink or reddish tinged matter? Can you provide a little more detail please? Also don't work the stomach harder with a protein until you can stop the vomitting.
