Re: Leaving moving objects
How much exercise is she getting or will she be getting when you move in with your mom? If you have her good and exercised and tired she'll be less likely (not saying she WON'T) to rough house as much as she would if she were under-exercised. I just had a baby so my poor beagle hasn't been on a walk...

Since it's been foooooooooooreeeeeeeeeeeever since I popped by, I thought I'd say hi :D I hope everyone is doing well! We're doing pretty well, super busy mostly. My old farty weenies are still hanging in there. Bruiser still loves his Miss Dixie (even more so since the little tart's in heat), and M...

Re: When to Un-Crate Train
If you're worried about her getting into your cabinets while you're gone, puppy-proof your cabinets the same way you would if you had a baby in the house. You can either get the latches that you have to drill to the inside of your cabinet or you can get the zip rings that you put around the door pul...

So... we're all still alive!! We've been super busy with work and trying to get our house purged of junk and get the nursery set up before baby gets here. I hit the 6 month mark this week, and have just under 17 weeks before our little BOY gets here :) J's an incredibly proud daddy that he's going t...

Re: Does anyone talk to Leigha outside the forum?
Sorry, been super busy with work and life--well, in between my naps that is. I'm doing really well. We are 13 weeks "grown" so far; 27 more to go. I have to go in next Friday to have another ultrasound done (quite sick of these), but we need to make sure everything's doing what it's suppos...

Re: For Emma and any other reptile lovers
Praying Mantises creep me out. We had one in the hall by my classroom a few weeks ago. The kids all wanted to kill it but were too scared to touch it. I told them to leave it alone or else it would eat their fingers. They stayed away after that.

Re: Raw Food Diet
We switched ours over to raw with no transition. With the fruits and veg we just put them in the blender and made veggie cubes out of them, so the apples ended up becoming applesauce anyhow. I'd puree the mix and then freeze it in ice cubes, then I could pull the ice cubes out and put it in their bo...

Re: Couch Monster
Three of the original 7 are still at the humane society. J went into PetSmart the other week to get food and was gone forever, and when he came home told me he'd run into our trainer there and they were talking about the puppies. She volunteers to train the dogs at the HS to help make them more adop...

We're all doing really well Mattie :) The girl I ride to work with is the volleyball coach, so we stay at work 'til 5 or so because she has practice and when I get home I sleep for a few hours then get back up and cook dinner and eat and go back to sleep. I'm having a wonderful pregnancy so far, the...

Couch Monster
I'm putting this in success stories because I think it speaks to how far Dixie has come in the 8 months she's been with us. In the last few weeks we've been trying to teach her how to get on the couch. We're not in the camp who don't let our dogs on the furniture. The only time they have to get down...

Re: Swollen Dew Claw
I think sometimes it depends on what type of bacteria is causing the infection and how bad the infection was in the first place. A (human) friend of mine had an infection the other week and it took her almost the whole week before she felt any better. If you're worried about it you can always call t...
