Re: Reporting neglected dog...?
Lucyandbella, thank you for your detailed response! I'm sure that the dog (I think his name was Cooper. I hear them shouring "Shut up Cooper!" from inside the house whenever he barks) doesn't have his own house. What makes me really sad is that he is forced to stay outside even when it's h...

Re: Reporting neglected dog...?
The only way I can see the dog is either through the holes in my fence, or when I am walking by because the section of the yard that the dog stays in is visible through a bar fence. The poor thing looks so miserable whenever I see him. My neighbors are.......not the friendliest people. It is really ...

Re: Heartworm Medication
Thank you! Can I ask what SNAP test is? I don't think he had it at all in the past... And also, the reason I wanted to switch was because I heard someone say that Ivermectin is not very safe. She claimed that her puppy died because of Wormshield, and that Ivermectin was what caused his death. Since ...

Reporting neglected dog...?
Hello! So, my next door neighbor has a dog. He's a pretty big guy from what I can see through little holes in my fence, and also when I'm walking past my neighbor's house. But I don't think he is getting the care that he needs. His fur is ungroomed, and he is always sleeping in the backyard. He does...

Heartworm Medication
Hello! I was just wondering if anyone knew of a good heartworm medication that I can get in the USA? I am changing vets, and wanted to change the heartworm medicine as well. I've been giving him Wormshield, which I have been getting from my vet. Are there any precautions that I should take before ch...

Re: Loose leash walking not going very well
Thank you ladybug1802!
Sounds like a good idea. I will definitely try it out!
But he would still be able to sniff around right? I don't really want to restrict his sniffing because I know how much he loves to sniff, being a Beagle.

Loose leash walking not going very well
I have a male Beagle who is now three years old. We have been working on loose leash walking for a loooooong time now, but I have been using "stopping when he pulls" method instead of the "changing directions" method because I found it quite impossible since he just would not bud...

Food Aggression--Bitten
I have a two year old male Beagle, and I guess it's not a surprise that he is completely obsessed with food. But it's been kind of a problem because he guards certain type of food. I'm not sure if this is how things happened exactly because it was pretty chaotic, but I'll try to describe it as much ...

Re: Giving Liquid Medication
Can you check with the vet if the meds are available in tablet form? With mine, if they have to take it they get the syringe in the corner of the mouth, head held up, squirt, rub throat, administer treat. They glare for a bit but sometimes they have to do what I want even if it isn't nice. Getting ...

Giving Liquid Medication
Hello! I have a 2 year old male Beagle, and we were given liquid medications from the vet to give to him, which is a pain.. He takes pills very easily if we wrap it with food, but there's no way of concealing the liquid medication in any way...Or I can't think of a way..The liquid medications were g...

Re: Being Handled by the Vet
Also, can I get an explanation on why it's not right to hand the leash to the vet? I understand that if a dog is handed physically (like, handing a small dog to another person) to a stranger that he is already fearful of, then he can end up biting, etc. But why is it not wise to hand the leash to th...

Re: Being Handled by the Vet
Thank you for all of your replies! :D I don't think my family really understands why I'm going crazy over them touching him too much. They just think I'm being possessive of my dog. I've explained the reasons to them before, but I don't think they believe me..But I'm trying to minimize it as much as...

Being Handled by the Vet
Hello! My two year old male Beagle went to the vet several days ago because he had some allergic reactions, and was licking his paws up to the point where it bled. I think he's been a little uncomfortable because of his paws, and he did snap at me several times when I tried to touch it and have a lo...

Holding the collar
I'm not sure if I'm posting things on the right thread, but I had a quick question about holding a dog's collar. Do all dogs not like to be held by the collar? I know that on Victoria's very first episode of season 1, she said that grabbing a dog's collar is a very dominant thing to do, so it's dang...
