Re: Dissapointed in 4th US season

I buy all of the episodes on DVD or iTunes because I can never make it to the TV in time.

Hi and welcome to the forum! :D Nice to "meet" you.

A lot of people don't post in the Welcome section of the forum because they are so focused on the Dog Training Advice part that they don't see the bottom half of the forum.

Re: tiny ticks

my vet also told me that if they do throw up within one hour of taking it, it has to be regiven. (She told me if that happened, she would give me another pill for free - just something to ask your vet about since this is an expensive treatment). But if the dog throws up more than an hour after givi...

Hahahaha! That made my evening.

My parents are Filipino and speak Tagalog in the home, so max has picked up on "Tara na!" which means let's go and "Kain na!" which means let's eat.

Re: Is it wrong for a dog to walk in front of it's person?

you're allowed to train dogs after taking a 2 week course? That't the way it is for a lot of large pet store chains. Since she's been training for almost two years, she has probably learned a ton through her experience. And everyone has to start somewhere. Zak George started as a trainer at a chain...

Re: tiny ticks

I can't offer you any advice, but I was wondering about your experience with Trifexis. Previously, my dog has been on Heartguard for heartworm and something else for fleas. Our vet switched us to Trifexis a few months ago. Our issue with it is that Max throws up after taking Trifexis unless he has a...

Re: Avatars and editing posts...

I uploaded my avatar directly from my computer. It took me so many attemps to get the picture small enough. As for the forum photo albums, nobody has ever really used them. Im not exactly sure what they're for, but they were added when Victoria's website became positively and the forum got renovated...

Re: Is it wrong for a dog to walk in front of it's person?

What's the fun in a walk if you can't go smell stuff? Heel is an important cue for safety reasons, but I see no need for that on a normal walk. As long as the leash is loose, he can keep going. I walk max on a 4 foot leash right now (we lost our 6ft one) so even if he is ahead of me on a loose leash...

Re: Crate Train or Not to Crate Train

We didn't use a crate to potty train, and we don't have the crate out in our house. It stays in our garage and is only used when we travel. My parent's don't allow him on any furniture because we'd have to vacuum multiple times a day with our allergies to his fur. Max has beds in dark areas away in ...

They are also changing his food to Dr Johns dry food. This was actually recommended by our breeder, not knowing much about it at the time, I have since looked into different foods available and following advice on here and realised how awful Dr Johns is, full of rubbish! I am so disappointed our br...

Re: Sooooo... we did it. Errol is now neutered.

We neutered max when he was about 6. He wasn't extremely playful before the operation, so we didn't see much of a difference in behavior (he's 8 now). Poor thing was so wobbly when he came home. My dad actually slept downstairs in our living room with him so he wouldn't have to climb up the stairs.
