Re: Weimaraner/doberman male

I think as long as both dogs are socialised well = good with other dogs, if they're playing too rough, they'll let each other know so I myself wouldn't worry about that. As for dogs playing rough with people, pretty much the same things applies = you have to let them know when it hurts. Squealing re...

Re: What is my lurcher ???

I am from Slovakia and I had never heard of lurchers until I came to the UK or shall I say until I started looking around for a dog to adopt. My boyfriend who is English didn't quite realise what a lurcher was until we looked it up on the internet. He thought lurchers were big thin fluffy-type dogs ...

Is the book The House Lurcher? You should find it very helpful if so.
It is that indeed, I'm looking forward to reading it! An obvious obsession is starting since Fly's my first lurcher :)

Re: What is my lurcher ???

A picture of his teeth as well as one where he's a bit bonier.

And YAY! Boyfriend just bought me a book about lurchers by Jackie Drakeford. Know her?

Re: What is my lurcher ???

His hip bones come out only a little, if you look at his lower back you can see something there and you can feel the 'edges' but as you can see in the middle picture of the three, you don't notice. So probably no :D He's chunkier than whippets. And teeth - the avatars are really small but I'd say as...

Re: What is my lurcher ???

Very interesting ideas :D He's only about 23 inches in shoulder so he's not a greyhound-size dog. But i should think he's a little taller than a whippet. The nose is fairly long but his eyes don't pop out as much. I do agree that he's got a wider chest than a greyhound/whippet but I don't think his ...

What is my lurcher ???

Hi. Two months ago me and my boyfriend adopted a beautiful lurcher who is about 11-12 months at the moment. He was found as a stray and is being amazingly obedient, at least compared to what I expected this to be like. It's like a walk in the park (except for a chewed up bottom step and a bit of wal...

Re: Episode 213 - Lazy Dog Days - April 17

RATS!!??!! Don't get a dog with any type of prey drive at all, unless you're tired of having the rats around (which I think I would be :? ) Sounds like you've seen firsthand what a hunter can do to much bigger prey (ducks and sheep!!??!!) Good luck to you, sounds like you're gonna need it! You don'...

Re: Episode 213 - Lazy Dog Days - April 17

The main thing I would caution you about, however, is making sure your boyfriend is on board with the whole process. If you are living together, he is going to need to be fully aware of his responsibilities with the dog as well as be willing to help by being consistent with your training regimen. I...

Re: Episode 213 - Lazy Dog Days - April 17

Hi, Victoria. I am from the UK so I'm sorry I'm not posting regarding the episode.... I watched my first episode of It's Me or the Dog only about a month ago but then watched almost everything in about 3 days, I now have run out of information to take in ;) I used to have an Alaskan Malamute that we...
