Good morning guys! How are you all? Yes it could have been that I have been more traumatized than the dog! I went home imediatly, and for the rest of the day I was so exausted that the only thing I did was write to you guys. I just wanted to sleep all day, and for every little thing I felt my head b...

Re: Double Trouble - Two puppies at once?..

True Emma! I wouldn't get two at the same time especially two litter mates, because 1. I would like to have lots of time to dedicate to each one with their training. 2. It is easier for them to become more attached to one another, rather than with me (which I believe might cause problems with traini...

Re: My Lab eats everything

How much exercise time does he get? Well I believe you guys should crate him or pen him in a area where he can not reach anything, leave him chew bones, kongs, and ect at all times(unbreakable safe toys or if you do not want to risk give kong or whatever supervised, and leave only chew bones). Start...

Describe better the circling, and spinning? How much exercise does she get? Did you do any training with her? How old is she? You have a really active breed in your hands!

Re: Wandering Dogs

Yeah like emmabeth said fencing a area is the best idea. Wow 21 acres sounds amazing! I would keep them inside, or in a sicure fenced area then take them on walks all over the 21 acres. To not risk something bad happening.

Dog training scheldue? How to remember...?

Okay I am proud of my boy he now knows around 30 commands/tricks. The problem is how to remember them all, and add new tricks at the same time? Plus work on the old tricks too? Then working in distractions, working with distance, and duration of a single command trying to remember to get it all done...

Re: Loose Lead Walking gentle ideas for a reactive gsd?

Emmabeth! Yep it is his desire for the rewards! It is my biggest problem of all. I have tried using half of one of his meals, as treats to get him to work a little. Inside the home it works okay, but out side it is blah. I make shure to switch up his "prizes" sometimes it can be praise, th...

Re: Loose Lead Walking gentle ideas for a reactive gsd?

Yeah the gentle leader can cause so much damage that is why it is too stressful to use.. I did attached it to his collar, but it was terrible because the leash would keep tangling up with his legs. Here is what would happen he would start pulling I would stop that same moment. he would go immediatel...

Re: Loose Lead Walking gentle ideas for a reactive gsd?

I am so happy to see so many replies! :D When I clicker train I usually allways shape intel I get a certain action. I keep clicker training short max 2 mins, and I use a high reinforce rate depending how well he knows a command. For example he knows sit so well I can leave him in a sit position leav...
