An Idea For Dealing With Separation Anxiety

We've actually dealt with this once already and got over it, but I recently moved, and now we have to start from scratch. I've been reading through ...

"It's all entertainment value to them." I agree. I just can't imagine trying to apply that to your own real life. But I guess (no offence to anyone! I don't know or care what tv shows you watch, but) it's no different than people who look to Jerry Springer to solve their personal problems...

Overheard at the Dogpark...

I know that there have been dozens of Victoria V. Caesar threads here (and I am not trying to open up a new one), as well as threads on dominance theory, but I don't think this quite fits with any of those. I apologize if there was somewhere better that I could have stuck this instead of starting a ...

Clicker Trick Suggestions?

Ok, so I'm new to clicker training, and I've hit a bit of a wall. At the suggestion of a friend who knows way more about this than I do I started free shaping behavior with a ball. Clicked for looking, clicked for nosing, ect... Now I've got her batting the dog with her paws, and she can generalize ...

Science Diet is not a healthy pet food, just read the label. I'm rather surprised no one mentioned this earlier (maybe they did and I just missed it) but not just with Science Diet, but with any food. Read the label. I know people don't do this as often as they should with their own food, and dog f...

Thank you! The cheese idea is brilliant. I got two cans, sharp cheddar and bacon cheddar. So far she loves it, and it's easy to dispense just a tiny amount.

Clicker Training Rewards...

So I have acquired a miniature poodle. She is sweet and well behaved but she hasn't had much in the way of formal training. I new at training, but I'd like to try clicker training with her. The thing is, she isn't very toy motivated. She's six years old, and she hasn't enjoyed playing with toys sinc...

Old dog, New tricks? Specifically barking and potty training

Hi everybody, I'm a newbie to these forums. I just got a dog, she's a six year old miniature poodle. She has lived with my mother for her entire life, but my mother has given her to me. She is well behaved and friendly and quite delightful, but there are two issues that I am concerned about. The fir...
