well I love my beagle! She's so friendly and very sweet.
My parents have 2 labs so I will always have a soft spot for them too.
But I would love a Weimaraner I think they are just such beautiful animals - maybe when I have lots of free time and land for it to run around in

hi we are in the same position, it does get better! I've found they are both much calmer and its easier just as puppy is waking after a nap then she's still a bit sleepy and more curious than ready to chase. When she's awake she play barks at the cat, not in an aggressive way but the cat would still...

My family and I adopted a rescue dog and cat from Greece about a month ago This has happened at least 10 times now and we have tried a number of things, none of which have worked I think if you've only had the dog a month or so and you have tried so many different things already that may be part of...

Sorry, I should have given more details. Start with hungry dog. Make sandwich and cut into bite-sized bits. Hold up one bit in one hand and have a piece ready in the other. As you offer one piece, hold up the second piece. Most dogs will gulp down first piece while watching second piece. Repeat. Th...

Also Danabananna, you are soooooo right to teach this early before Teagan turns into a kleptomaniac like Ellie. If Ellie ever gets bored of being a lap dog, she can alway turn her hand to being a cat (dog) burglar. Laughing It's not even like I expect her to pick it up immediately I know she's only...

Well she took a while to work out I wanted her to touch the ball in my hand (bless, she sat, laid down, stood up again and pawed at it before catching on) then she did really well for a few minutes but lost interest and started trying to get the clicker out of my other hand instead. Must do shorter ...

Teaching a retrieve
Just looking for new ideas here really I know she's still young but just want to make sure I'm doing things the right way from as early as possible (my parents 2 labs still won't retrieve they just chase after a ball then lie down and chew it) Tried the method in imotd book but usually she doesn't t...

Not sure but we've stocked up on the pricechoice minces - can get them from pets at home - they have ground bone in them already but obviously don't get the teeth cleaning benefits and it takes about 20 seconds to eat instead of a leisurely 20 minutes. don't know about the dried fruit but if it's ra...

Not sure if this is right or not but I think I read somewhere that dogs howl most often to locate their pack when they are lost? If that is right then it could be a separation anxiety kind of thing? Think you'd need to slowly build up the time she is left alone so she gets comfortable and knows that...

Took Teagan for a photoshoot today, my parents are always saying they wish they had more pics of their dogs as pups so we decided to get some proper ones done and we can maybe frame a nice couple. She loved being the centre of attention but then decided she'd rather eat the camera so maybe she's not...

Just because I am a single mom and work doesn't mean that my home will not be a good one and that I am not capable of having a wonderful puppy. Nobody said your home won't be a good one. I have to agree with everyone else though a puppy is not for anyone who works full time. I am also suprised the ...
