Re: Help me help this dog rescued from puppy mill

I can't offer much advice, but you will get some good advice from others here. They'll want to know more about your other dog and the household routine so see if you can put some more detail up. Sweetie was a very similar scenario (but overweight, not underweight), from a puppy mill and and petrifie...

Re: Microchipping

I'm usually not a fan of everything being compulsory either, but to play devil's advocate... What if the reason the chip system works so well in Australia is because it IS compulsory (in my state it is anyway, and I'm pretty sure just about all are the same)? Dogs must also be registered with local ...

Re: 98 lbs of dog at PetSmart

Other visitors were amused seeing a 100 lb monster dog with crocodile teeth trying to squeeze under the bench in the waiting area at the vet and hide there. Of course he is way too big for that, so only managed to fit his butt under that bench, poor boy...  You should be glad he doesn't...

Re: Dudley's Tail

Absolutely awful. And of course the other end of the cycle... We're Sweetie's third home. The second had her only a few weeks before advertising her, and the first was a puppy mill. She was in appalling condition when we got her and has lasting health problems that will never be set right entirely -...

Re: Vent!

What were you planning to do with the snake if you could find it, out of curiosity? sorry if it sounds cruel, but have you seen the movie 'highlander'? sean connery character ramirez: "If your head comes away from your neck, it's over!" as much as i'm afraid of snakes, i don't do anything...

Re: Vent!

Google 'bird netting to catch snakes'. It really works. You will see that a lot of the sites are Australian  It's actually illegal to do it here, but everyone does. People who show up at the rural suppliers and ask for snake netting are turned away. But they'll happily hand it over to anyone a...

Re: Raw feeding for dogs losing teeth

Yes that is lucky, GWD. We're in a city with no rural industry at all for hundreds of kilometres but I should check out some of the butchers and see if they do anything similar. We're not wealthy, but we earn OK money and it's just us and puggie so the price doesn't worry me too much, as long as she...

Re: Raw feeding for dogs losing teeth

Thank you for the kind words  . But I'm always quick to correct people when they tell us she's lucky to have landed with us. She's only now getting what she deserves. We think we're the lucky ones to have such a sweet girl. We got more 'problems' than if we'd gotten an easy dog, but we also ge...

Raw feeding for dogs losing teeth

Hi everyone. I lurk here regularly but don't often post. But I've learnt a lot by reading other peoples questions and the responses and I guess I'm just after a bit of guidance if anyone has experience with this. Bit of a long story. OH wanted a pug, I didn't (oh how I've changed my mind!). I wanted...
