I can't say whether or not it's normal, but I will say that she will probably grow out of it. If she doesn't, tell your vet about the behavior next time you see them. It could be a psychological thing/medical problem. Or she may just be a submissive dog. Socialization in one-on-one situations will p...

Well Max no longer has a HAPPY SPOT! A few weeks ago he stopped shaking his leg during chest/belly rubs. :? He never shakes his leg in the air anymore either. I told my neighbor who has a boxer and he said that he heard dogs sometimes stop shaking their leg b/c they mature. Has anybody else heard o...

Yeah, being couped up for 10 hrs is a big part of the problem. That's a bit much for any breed, but for a terrier that's too much. Look into a doggie day care, that can really help. That, and having a neighbor come over to let her out and walk her for a few minutes during the middle of the day. Or y...

Well, then like I said, working out a schedule with your neighbors is probably the best idea. They'll be happy to help, so long as you make it clear that A) You want to change you and your dog's schedule, not make them change theirs, and B) You are concerned that your dogs are annoying them, and not...

My advice would be to put up a complete visual barrier along the fence and see if it helps. If the dogs can't see each other, they probably won't bark, but you can't really know it until you try it. Put up a temporary barrier first (like cardboard) and make sure it works before putting up something ...

Re: Help- dog with Car Anxiety
She starts to drool and shake as she approaches the car. I can't claim to be any expert, but my suggestions would be these: Go through the usual steps as if you were going to get her into the car. As you go towards the car, stop, treat her and praise her. Take another step and treat and praise her....

I agree with what has been said so far. I just wanted to remind you never to leave your child and dog unsupervised together, or in any situation where they could come in contact. Sorry I'm stating the obvious, but I just think it bears reminding. I just got through reading some dog bite statistics, ...

More exercise of all types would be my advice. The shell game (put 3 cups face down on the ground with a treat under one, and let her find which one has it and how to get it out), hide and seek (use the stay and come commands, reward her when she finds you), and more walking will help a lot. Any oth...

I saw this and thought it was funny, in regard to the "dog whisperer."
I think it highlights how bad a trainer he is. I don't think that lady deserved what happened, if anyone, it should have been CM.
