RAW feeding, as BARF feeding, is feeding raw meat, bones etc. My dogs LOVE it. and they're not blood thirsty :) They're just dogs who love raw meat - and they're indoor "lapdogs" too. I also cook food for my dogs, a mixture of brown & white rice, pasta, minced meat (turkey, chicken, be...

my dogs aren't too fussed with kongs either! I put yummy stuff in it - anything from cream cheese, peanut butter, vegemite, dog carob, dog yoghurt, liver treats, crushed up cookies and cheese.. i've frozen them, melted them etc - but only my little one will use her kong when we're out - I fill hers ...

There is a designer pet store in Adelaide sity that sells the machine for AU$95 and the bubbles in a 2 pack for $12.99. Luckily I bought the bubbles on their own, even though I wanted the machine - it would have been a waste of money, coz when I blow them bubbles, they just sit there and look at the...

my dog pretty much puts his lupi on himself..... he gets all excited, grabs it and puts his head throgh it - then when I take it off him he sits still and puts his head in it, and lifts his legs on his own to put them through the loops. I've heard that they hurt, and that they rub, but my dog shows ...

I don't have answers, but when my 1 year old was a pup, as soon as we brought her home, every single time that she ate, I made sure I stroked her, touched her head, took her bowl away from her, put my hands into the bowl while she was eating, and I taught her "leave it" command at 9 weeks ...

if he jumps up on her, she should turn away from him and ignore him until all 4 paws are on the ground. If he runs around to her front again and jumps, turn around again. If this doesn't work - when he runs towards her to jump up, if she steps backwards he won't be able to land on her, but don't tur...

I have also heard (but not tried, nor heard from reputable trainers) that a lot of separation anxiety occurs in the first half hour-hour (??) after the owner leaves. Playing a tape with you and your partner talking on it - not talking directly to the dogs, but just general conversation, and leaving ...

Food no-nos

regarding recent discussion on these boards surrounding food on the "no-no" list: I was googling eggs, and found this

http://mooreshaven.com/pets/dogs/safety ... slist.html

I'm sure people have opposing views to some of the foods, but thought I'd post it here anyhow, coz it's quite long

I have wondered about how many eggs is ok, too. I personally don't eat egg yolks EVER, so my dogs only get the yolk. Ted (4 yo shortleg jr ONLY eats them cooked - turns his nose up at them raw, so I scramble them with fine chopped parsley, and they both enjoy it like that. Bella (1yo jrxpom) sometim...
