Re: 'dog ghettos’ telegraph article
We're lucky enough to live in a very dog-friendly city (Houston). Abby goes basically everywhere with us..and since we have such nice weather pretty much all year long, we can take her to eat with us on patios and such at restaurants. I'm so thankful for that because she looks pit-bull (ish) and we ...

Re: HELP Abby ate a whole apple
Upon further review it seems I have overreacted. Apparently she would need A LOT of appleseeds in order to be in danger. Sorry for alarming anyone.

HELP Abby ate a whole apple
Abby ate a whole apple while we were out to dinner-stole it out of my bag from work. She's 65 pounds and in otherwise good health but I'm still worried (of course). The seeds from 1 apple aren't enough to hurt her, right?

Re: "He is so polite!"
Yayyyy Ari! We're lucky in that all of our neighbors seem to like Abby, even though she looks a little like a junkyard dog at this point.. Good for your neighbors for giving him a chance!

Re: Multiple Cats
Those food toys are awesome!!! I think we will stop by the food store this afternoon and see what size the other high-quality kibble is so we can free-feed everyone something high-quality. I suppose if we have some over-eaters we can go to a schedule..I'm confident Dude won't but I can't say about t...

Re: Multiple Cats
Dude has always been free fed. He has never had a problem overeating and just eats when he feels like it. Sister's cats eat a set breakfast and dinner. Switching Dude over to a schedule would probably be fine, but with one especially irritating and whiny dog before dinnertime, I enjoy having a laid-...

Multiple Cats
Hi all...I know that some of us here have multiple animals/cats/dogs/other, so I'm looking for some advice. My sister's fiance has moved in with us, and she will be moving in with us in a month or so. They have 2 cats, Lolo and Xxeus (he got to pick the name... :) ) For now, only Xxeus is here with ...

Re: Favorite Dog Names
When we made the decision to get a puppy, I had always said that my next dog's name would be Layla..so Neo SHOULD have been Layla, but I was overruled by OH who insisted she have an African name, being that she was an African Lion Hound  . So after a quick google search we decided on Neo. Cat ...

Nature Walk!
Abby and I spent the whole day together on Sunday going to a nature preserve. Of course she's more into laying down and taking a nap instead of walking.. http://i1217.photobucket.com/albums/dd381/gkasa/007_zps9c80aa98.jpg http://i1217.photobucket.com/albums/dd381/gkasa/014_zps4989e6e3.jpg http...

Re: quirky things we love.
I'm laughing my way through this thread! Great stories! Sometimes when Charley is sleeping, his lips must be sealed together just so because his cheek will puff up with air before it escapes with a little popping noise, then his cheek will deflate again - this can go on in a perfect rhythm for quit...
