Re: Study in Drawing Fur
Wow, really REALLY good job! I can see what you mean about certain areas, I can't quite put my finger on it either! All I can offer is, really concentrate on it being shadows/light and not 'fur coming forwards'. You KNOW its fur coming forwards up off the dogs face, but you need to suggest it.. rat...

Feeling Crummy... Really, Really Crummy...
Today my mom was called by her good friend Lisa. For about a year/two years Lisa's mom has been battling cancer. The cancer was in her colon-rectum area and failed to respond to treatment, so the doctors had to do invasive surgery where they went in and removed the cancer, a procedure that left too ...

Re: Study in Drawing Fur
Don't worry, emmabeth, I got it figured out. I tried again on deviantart today and it worked just fine so it must have just been having problems yesterday. I took a couple different pictures from different positions. http://ewebster123.deviantart.com/#/d460jwm http://ewebster123.deviantart.com/#/d46...

Re: Study in Drawing Fur
I can't figure out how to load the pictures I took of it. I'm trying to upload them through my deviantart profile because that's the only way I know how, but it keep on saying FIGI argument or something like that, unsupported file type blah blah blah even though I've uploaded photos like that before...

Re: Escape!... Into the House?
Buddy is such a lucky dog that you are understanding him so well and trying to help him with his fears. Well done! Thanks Nettle :D From the looks of the clouds, today's going to be overcast. According to the weather report, the next three days' high is in the seventies and the lows are in the mid ...

Re: Escape!... Into the House?
He is scared of the gunshots and he wants to come indoors where he might feel safer - so yeah, slapping his nose won't help him not be scared of gunshots. I realise this IS really really difficult for you as it isn't up to you where he lives/stays most of the time, but would it not be possible to h...

Re: Escape!... Into the House?
Alright, new problems. There were gun shots again today so Buddy jumped up on the window so obviously I had to go out and stop him. I petted him and calmed him down until the gunshots ended and about ten minutes after that I went inside. No more than ten seconds later he was on the window again. So ...

Re: Study in Drawing Fur
I'm just about done with PikiPiki's dog, but I'm having a few problems fine tuning it. The fur above the dog's eyes- I'm having trouble drawing it to make it look realistic and as if it's coming forward. My mom looked at the drawing and said I did I really good job with it (she actually mistaked it ...

Re: Needs Answering By Tomorrow; Quick!
that's so neat! I wish they had those things in Hawaii... :( :D Buddy will be so excited for you to "share" what you learned! He's lucky he has you! They don't have those things at all in Hawaii? Is the Humane Society there? If they aren't, then you should write to them to extend to Hawai...

Re: Needs Answering By Tomorrow; Quick!
Had fun? Yes! The event was very fun. We got there at the last 2-3 hours though so I think most of the things had gone on already  , like the agility competitions. The most athletic thing we saw was weiner dog racing  .There were a lot of things for the dogs to eat and there were a l...

Thanks guys! I kind of already thought not bringing him would be better, but I certainly didn't think asking for a second or third opinion would hurt, either. I'm actually all ready for going; I've got a handy little notebook and a list of things to try and find answers for written out (well, part o...

Tomorrow there will be an event put on by the Humane Society where there will be agility courses, doggy experts, dog adoptions, meet'n'greets, ect. and my mom was wondering if I want to take Buddy there because my cousin Jill will be there all day and it would be fun for the whole family including t...

Re: Study in Drawing Fur
Oh boy, everything's trying to distract me from drawing fur! Building a fence, baby chicks hatching, and new drawing books. I got a dragon drawing book and a figure drawing book, and my focus is on them, as guilty as I feel about not drawing fur! I'm not completely giving in to my desires though; at...

Re: Any Advice For Improvement?
I was out for a run this evening and while I was out there I passed by my friend's home. Her neighbors have llamas and her 6 month old mastiffxGerman shepard cross Bear is enthralled by them and occassionally escapes into the neighbor's yard lately. Well, he was in there when I passed by and they we...
