Re: my dog is making a "snorting" sound??
Dogs usaly don't get sick from this, but if it's not KC, and not a breed that normally snorts, it might be nose-mites, also highly contagious. ?

Re: How to run with your dog
Jacksdad, thanks for the article it had great advice, especially signs you should stop. Siw-Malin Bye, I am glad you gave me the info on where to attach my dog. Hahaha. I was already thinking I better buy elbow pads and a helmet before I attempt this. I could just picture me flying off the bi...

Re: Neutering
Thank you for the links Siw Malin-Bye; unfortunately I would need them translating. :( Your English is very good and I am sorry I can't speak Norwegian at all. I respectfully disagree with you on some points you make: Many types of dog only come on heat once a year, notably sighthound types and the...

Re: Neutering
If I repeat something others had said, I'm sorry.. But, for humping, research show that often comes from stress/frustration, and not so dominance and hormones. In Norway, spaying and neutering is illegal, unless for health or behavioral issues, but almost every vet will do it. Myself, I have ...

Re: How to run with your dog
Thanks for this info. I will try luring when I run, I love the turn it into a game idea i think that will work for my shepherd. I have been thinking of trying to bike with the collie becuase of how fast she wants to go. She also turns towards me and starts biting the leash when I slow down while ru...

Re: How to run with your dog
I use a heel command when I run with my dogs, because pulling aren't kind to the knees after a while, but in the beginning I had to use a lot of lure.. ran with kibble in my hand. And they were very good at heeling from the normal walks, and to make it fun, I have switched between walking slowly, no...

Re: Black Lab aggresive only on lead and in run towards wife
I think the tips Lucyandbella had was very good! :) One more tips on the leash aggression, if he has reacted to a dog, follow it, at a distance, and work with the watch me exercise, and just at glance towards you is good enough in the beginning. Or ask the other dog owner if you could walk a bit tog...

Wow! Bet you can sleep with the doors open. What a crew! Tremendous. well... we sleep with doors and windows open, leave the house and car unlocked.. but that's because we live a really quiet place on the countryside, :) but of course, a pack of dogs would helped if someone try to break in, the sca...
