Sandy still attacking TV animals-driving me crazy-help pleas
Hi all, I thought I had this under control, but obviously it's not working. See previous post. As a reminder, he is 3 1/2 yo chihuahua mix (c Italian Greyhound?) and not only reacts to actual dogs and people in park, on walks, from car, but also attacks the TV whenever there is an animal of any kind...

Re: What to do and am I doing it right?
I was just wondering whether they were part of the decision to get Deveraux? Also, have they ever had dogs before? Do they seem to be doing it to taunt or tease you? How was your relationship with your housemates before adopting Deveraux? Also, what is their background with dogs? Have they ever had ...

Re: Dog with Attitude
I agree, I would live to see Victoria do a video on this subject. I've had similar problems with Sandy. He is still going to the TV to "attack" whatever animal is on there. I click and treat when he stays with me or my husband and doesn't react, but when he jumps down and runs to the TV, I...

Re: Barking in car
We don't live in the country so we don't have any sheep around, but our chihuahua mix will bark at large trucks, people passing on bicycles, dogs, and even the picture of a dog on the side of a carpet cleaning truck. When we first got him, I tried holding him in the car, but not only did he ba...

Re: Sandy the chihuahua mix--feeding problems , NEED HELP
Another victory! Ever since my last post, I have been putting his kibble mixture in his dish and sitting on his chair, just letting hm eat alone without me hand feeding him or forcing anything. Also, he doesn't know what days I will add tiny pieces or chicken mixed into his kibble. Starting yesterda...

Re: What to do and am I doing it right?
How creative! What a great way to recycle the paper towel rolls. You really have your hands full with your housemates! And here I'm having the challenge of making sure my husband follows through on the training I'm doing. He know dogs need to be trained but has different ideas. I found some of Victo...

Re: does not trust humans (fear)
Poor thing. Sounds like she might have been abused.
Hopefully, someone with some experience can help you with her. I lack the experience, but I just want to give you some support, it sounds like you might need some professional help with her.
She is lucky to have you.

Re: Chihuahua mix 3 & half yrs. attacks at animals on TV
Update: It has gotten to the point where when he sees me sit down to watch the TV armed with the clicker and treats, he has stopped sitting and watching TV and spends his time trying to get to the treats. They were in a plastic bag in my pocket. I had to take them out of there for fear he was going ...

Re: What happened with Diesel? Aggression help please!
First Bear is a beautiful boy. :D I can see how he would be great for cuddling. Great to hear that things are working out between the two of you. It is always good to hear how things work out, and that you are no long Bear bait. We too had a trainer who had us putting our poor chihuahua mix down on ...

Re: A springy spaniel
What a lucky dog to have you rescue him. I agree to keep him out of the playgroup for now. Since you don't know anything about his history, he may have had a bad experience with a cat. When we adopted out chihuahua mix, Sandy, he had been in a house with a cat, and we were told that he had to be the...

Re: Dogs won't wee on wet grass
I think I need to go to our local Lowes or Home Depot and see what can be done. They also can provide labor. This estimate was by a company that sells sprinkler systems and this very expensive artificial grass. He was talking about heavy equiptment, etc. I think it was a sales job. Of course, they d...

Re: Hope for hector?
Our first trainer told us that he should have been neutered much earlier. But, I didn't like his methods, so I don't put too much into it. It could explain his aggressiveness towards other dogs in that he is masking his fear by trying to attack first? He had been in a home with a cat, too, so he rea...

Re: Dogs won't wee on wet grass
Nettie, For a square of about 4 yards or meters square, they wanted $3000 to mover the small rocks, out in drainage and put down the artificial grass including price if the artificial grass! To put in anything hight than the 6ft, (2 meter) high concrete/adobe walls, I need permission from th...

Nettie,
I agree. I also like to know how things work out for those who have problems. It is always nice to know the results.
Thanks for your suggestions.
