Thanks for that. I already have a no pull harness so will just stick to that whilst I do the loose lead walk training.
I have used Matties technique on my other dog and it worked a charm - not sure we did it in two weeks though

Guys for give me if I am being dim, but all this talk about Haltis - I assume we are talking about the headcollars or the gentle leaders rather than the harnesses? I was thinking of getting one of these for Max the dog I am going to foster and hopefully adopt, as he is a big dog and apparantly pulls...

Hi all, Me again.... I have been putting a list together for my now almost certain (albiet on a trial basis) arrival. I thought that I should come up with a list of questions to ask his current owners and I have got this far.... Max Checklist DOB: Microchipped: Microchip Number: Health Issues: Vacci...

Right thanks for that folks. so my question now is assuming that out and about they are ok together how would I introduce him to the house properly and what precautions are you referring to Mattie when introducing a new dog. Sorry if i am being a bit thick here but I have never done this before so a...

Sorry forgot two other things. Mattie, you mention health issues in Rottie's, I have had a look on the web and have found skin issues, hip dysplacia (sp) and something to do with the knee ligaments. I also see that cancer is a concern. However, when looking at Doberman health issues, the list is dif...

Thanks Mattie, I have only just seen this response for some reason but wise words. I have found a few companies that will insure him, but not at the level of cover I have for Ellie. Still that may just have to be the way it is. So as a general update, I am still 'on-going' with this and am off to me...

My dog Ellie exhibts exactly this behaviour (albeit very infrequently now she is all grown up) and it is definately excitement in her case or excited stress if you prefer. The only time it happens now really is when we have been playing and playing something really exciting like tuggy. She will then...

The problem you might well have though... is now that Ellie has a history of scoffing things that arent food and that need surgery to recover... its HIGHLY likely no other insurer will cover that... and you wont need me to tell you how much it will cost you should she do it again and you arent cove...
